Without an ethernet port, you can't connect to a router. However, adapters are available which can adapt usb to ethernet. Check your local computer store.

It doesn't support Network Connection. It only has an interface for USB connection. However, you may want to try to set it up with a printserver such as HP JetDirect 175x.

Acer aspire 5335 connects to wireless internet, but not with eathernet cat5 cable?? thanks

Make sure the Network Connection for the LAN is not disabled. Click Start/Control Panel and look for the Network Connections. Make sure the Network Connection for the LAN is not disabled. if it is disabled, right click on it and select enable.

Also the port could be bad on the computer. If it does not light up when you put the cable in the port might be damaged.

Yes... the device you are looking for is called a "wireless ethernet bridge". They allow ordinary wired ethernet devices to communicate wirelessly. They are also known as "wireless gaming adapters" for XBox 360 and Playstation 2, since niether have wireless cards

You can check your connection if everything is properly connected.,
MOdem should be on the INTERNET port, The computer should be on the LAN port.
Sometimes wireless security is also causing the problem.
You can check your security by goin to the wired computer.
Open a browser and type in the address bar 192.168.1.1,
No username password is admin.
Click on wireless tab and then click on the wireless security.
Check these settings and then go back to your laptop disconnect and then reconnect again.

I had to move and I took my NetGear WGR614v9 Wireless router with me. How do I hook it back up? I have DSL, which is what I had at my prior residences.

Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Getting new labtop

The desktop should have an eathernet port on the back if it does you will need to get an eathernet cable from your loca computer supply store. This cble will be pluged into that port and into one of the eaternet plugs on the router. To conect the laptop there should be a wirless icon on the lowere left side of your screen on the taskbar it may need to be expanded by pushing the arow. You will the right click on that icon and say view wirless networks. It should pop up a list of networks click on the one you own and say conect. It might ask for a WEP password which should be located on the botom of the router or the side. I hope this helps you and look forward on helping you again.

I want to use a second wifi router as an access point for my XBox

It might be better if you just get a 25-100 foot eathernet cable so you do not have to mess with a second wirless network system a may be a eathernet switch box.

Networking

You actually have a couple of issues here. Fix these in this order. 1.) Login to router and turn off wireless (if you're not wanting to use wireless) 2.) Connect the ADSL modem CAT5 port to the WAN port of the Belkin router. 3.) Login to router and turn on NAT and make sure DHCP is enabled. 4.) On your Windows machine turn on DHCP under the network settings. This should allow your connection to be setup automatically and stop wireless access on the Belkin router. Let me know if you need more help. JC
