My dell studio 1735 keyboard is becoming unresponsive. Is there a good way to clean it so that it will work better?

Have your hard drive checked. I would bet it is bad.

Here is only drivers for the vista windows system, but the drivers sometimes work on windows 7.

To turn on the backlight on the keyboard follow the steps below. The keyboard backlight LED can be accessed through either the Quickset Utility or Windows Mobility Center depending on the installed application.Once this is open click on the Keyboard Backlighting section. Make sure the keyboard light is turned on.

If the F2 and F12 keys don't work, there's something wrong with the hardware. It could be as simple as a faulty keyboard or bad keyboard connection but my guess with the other problems occurring there is something more. You will need to contact Dell for in depth hardware

This could also be the harddrive failing.

Try visit a computer repair shop or a DELL autorized dealer/repair for detailed fault finding.

Type the password exactly as shown, and then hold down CTRL while pressing ENTER twice

Hard drive needs replacing.

The jumper should be right next to the CMOS battery. It is also completely possible that simply pulling the CMOS battery would reset the BIOS enough to get rid of the password.

You mean you have no display in your monitor?If it is the problem. Then your computer has something wrong with it. Did it beep several times while you turn your computer on?There are different types of beeps and it gives different meanings. I suggest it is better to take your computer into a service center and have it check by a qualified technician. Comments please for further assistance. Thank you..:-)
