If your hard drive has crashed and you are putting in a new one, you will also have to reinstall the Operating System.
If you are just upgrading to a larger drive, Then you will have to clone it to the new drive.
There is an accesable drive bay on the back side of the Acer v2000. I don't know how to tell you which one, but you won't hurt anything just by opening the doors. Take a look and you will find the one for the hard drive.
