if you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules.
first you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system
you should always ask for a guarantee on the compatibility before making any purchase and try to buy for working pairs if possible
hope this helps

but the memory is exactly the SAME.
and each Memory DIMM is good because each will work by it's self in SLOT A. just not together.
If i use EATHER ONE of the DIMMS in Slot A, computer is stable,
But unstable if i put two in (Slor A&B) and it's not instantly unstable either. It takes awhile, before it crashes, normally after a heavy load/use.
You model Sony supports a total max. of 1Gb DDR SDRAM (ie. two 512Mb RAM modules). Is the total RAM you are installing greater than 1Gb, this maybe the problem. If both RAM modules are 512Mb then you could have a fault in memory slot B. The specified RAM speed for your model laptop is 266MHz (PC2100), you can use 333Mhz (PC2700) RAM modules but it will run at the slower speed and should not affect the laptop. Since your laptop can support only 1Gb RAM and slot B is faulty, then you maybe able to put 1Gb RAM module in slot A. Take it to your friendly computer to try this out, if it work then swap and buy the 1Gb RAM module.
