I guess my question to you, why would you want to use a DVD Handycam Camcorder with 40X Optical Zoom as a webcam? The optics on that camera are great and I would use the camera as intended. It would be bulky to mount and use as a webcam. Most webcams are mounted on the front of your monitor. It seems to me it would be easier to just pick up a webcam that is designed to sit on your monitor. Logitech makes some great ones.

There is control switch block that has zoom/wide switch along with play, rewind, forward, stop, pause buttons and this switch block flip up and down while ejecting/ load tape in camcorder, this will be replaced as zoom/wide switch got defective and sending continues command of zoom to system control chip. Let me know if you need part number of switch block control for DCR-TRV120
