I have the same problem with hotpoint aquarius - empty water light won't go out even though there is no water to empty - doesn't dry clothes because it won't heat up!

Empty light wont go out, Dryer not heating up. Both Stats replaced with new. Is there a water light switch somewhere that is malfunctioning. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The black wire that was moving water from down condenser to up - water container - remove it. Use cotton swabs to "clean" the holes, do a run of the dryer without that black wire connected ( carefull, cause some wated might spill at this point), reattach black wire, and enjoy :)

It worked for me anyway. ( fingers crossed, its been on for 20 mins and still no red lights flashing)

I noticed this is a common question, i have the same problem on my TDC40 so i read the manual and it says " the empty water light will stay on solid. this is normal, only when the empty water light is flashing will indicate that the water tank needs emptying" so i guess there is not a problem if the TDC32 and the TDC40 are similar in design, I am not an enginner but i had problems with my TDC40 and stripped it down to fix it therefore i know some minor problems and can only help with "SOME" questions.

SOURCE: hotpoint dryer TDC32

i had this problem but it is NORMAL. only when the empty water light is flashing it needs emptying, i thought there was an internal problem but like i say it is normal to stay on solid throughout your drying and even when you just switch it on. i found this out in my manual

TDC32 Dryer is running but is not heating up

Hi.
Common fault with these is the two thermostats that fit on the heater at the back of the appliance -- accessable by unscrewing the back cover (MAKE SURE POWER IS DISCONNECTED FIRST!!)

There is a choice of thermostats depending on the serial number of the appliance.

If you need any other assistance please email me on: [email protected]

Empty water light stays on

Remove lower left filter, and washout under running water, reach into the opening and clear out all fluff and gunge, get a plastic bag tie or similar, and feel for and locate small hole at rear of compartment and poke clear with plastic
Make sure the air vents are clear back and front and try again, if still showing light then probably the float switch is sticking or faulty, this involves a complete strip down of dryer to fix.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Empty water light staying on machine will not work

Probably sticking float switch
Remove lower bottom left filter completely run water thro it to clean all fluff out reach inside and clear any build up of fluff that you can see or feel.
At the back of this aperture is a small hole that gets clogged up,feel for it and poke a plastic bag tie or similar, and poke it clear, if this does not work then it would probably involve a strip down to access the float chamber and switch assy.

Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Water light on dryer

hey cadoras,

you might want to check the sensor for the water inside the dryer. you say that even if you already put water in it, the light is still on correct? which means that the dryer does not detect or sense that water is already there. so please check if the sensor is working and if not, replace the sensor.

Hotpoint condenser tumble dryer aquarius cdt00- wont dry

I am not familiar with this particular unit, but I have a condensing dryer (Malber) which pumps out the water by itself. I am guessing that your unit requires you to empty a bin manually. Even if the bin is empty, I think the unit thinks it needs to be emptied and that is why the dryer will not work to give you hot air. If you do have such a bin, it might have a weight switch which the unit uses to detect if the bin needs emptying. See if the weight switch is working. The same weight switch idea is used on dehumidifiers.
