GE JGSP31GER Gas Oven doesn't heat up hot enough

The part your talking about used to run about $275 which is pretty high for a free standing range but the cost of it isn't important. The reason why is that they no longer make that part anymore and when i looked it up I got NLA which means no longer available. You may get lucky and find a company that possibly has one still in stock, but there is no way that it will come with a warranty, so if its a dud when you get it your stuck with it. I would invest my money in something I could fix when it came time to.

GE XL 44 oven will not come up to temperature. Oven lights but will not heat beyond 250 degrees.

Hello,

The most probable reason the oven isnt heating very well is because of a weak igniter, since that igniter is weak its having a hard time fully opening the gas valve so the flame is very small and thusly not producing much heat,by replacing the igniter the gas will flow properly and heat to a high tempature.

GE GAS STOVE XL-44 [?17B034] Oven broiler works; however, lower oven ignites and burner comes on but flame is low and DOES NOT HEAT to selected temperature; e.g. 350 degrees.

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

My gas oven will not heat up above 300 degrees and

You may have 2 problems.
One. The temperature sensor could be bad. You can remove the temperature sensor and check it with a ohm meter. It should read 1050 to 1150 ohms. If not. It is bad.
Two. The glowbar ignitor could be bad and not igniting the gas safety valve.Open the bottom drawer of the oven and set the oven to bake. The burner should light in 60 seconds or less. Re-light should be about 30 seconds or less.
If it takes longer the ignitor is bad.

GE Profile Spectra XL 44 gas oven

If you can smell the gas when you turn on the oven, it may be on a separate igniter that has gone bad. I would check this first. If you are not getting gas to the oven, there is possibly an issue with the supply line.
