A slim chance try unpluging the dryer, or throughing the breaker to the dryer. If you sensor light still comes on then it it high limit senor open.. To me it sounds like it is your elements could cause that or your vent was plug up.

I'm trying to replace the motor from my Whirlpool Cabrio (WED6400SW1) dryer. The motor is impossible to remove from the blower. I can't break the motor away without stripping the plastic blower nut that connects to the two. What do you recommend I do at this point. I'm thinking that I should try to seperate the two by cutting the plastic connection and order a new blower fan.

Whirlpool Cabrio dryer won't start - the sensing light stays on

An EXTREMELY helpful technical guide is folded inside the console housing.
WARNING: It is for appliance techs, DO NOT do the voltage/resistance checks if you are not well-versed in troubleshooting appliances! BUT, it does include putting the dryer in diagnostics mode and checking the sensors.
Post back any error codes you may get.

Drum will not turn

Check three things.
First off is that the brake is disengaging and is not holding the drum in place.
Next check the motor to make sure that it is not frozen.
Last but should be done first is look at the belt to make sure that it is not broken or has come loose
