Should be some what of a cheap fix but it depends on how the RF connector is mounted. Some are just connected to the back with a cable hooked to the tuner and others to the tuner itself. If its hooked to the tuner, then the tuner has to be removed to replace the connector because the connector has to be resoldered to the circuit board and the metal shield. If its on the back then its just switched out. If the circuit board in the tuner is broken then the whole tuner will have to be replaced and that can cost alot more, if the tuner is available. Shouldnt cost over a hundred dollars to repair depending on the repair shop

It depends if the connector broke the tuner it is attached to. Most times the chassis of the set would need to go into the shop. I would generally charge $80.00-$120.00 if the tuner was still good - a new tuner would cost $60-$100 more if bad
The better solution is to use the video audio inputs (if on satellite or cable box) or use the video inputs by changing channels through the VCR (if on cable or antenna and a VCR is available)

Trying to connect a digital antenna to my Sanyo tv. I plugged the cord from the antenna to the tv using the only input location labeled Ant. No signal, tried changing input but no luck.

an antenna has coaxial connection to go to your tv from the antenna... it looks like a barrel. If it is a powered antenna it will also have a cord to be connected to power in some way (usb, ac wall plug etc) that needs to be plugged in often as most those antennas do not pick up anything until you plug them in but that depends on location and a bunch of other stuff. good luck

Has sound. Why does screen go black?

this can be caused by numerous issues from internal problems to input issues If it happens while you are using an antenna input, and you lose picture it is internal. If it works on antenna but not on one of the other inputs it MAY be the cable. if you put it on the settings menu, and it goes black (the menu) definitely internal. Now the question is, is it worth the repair or replacement, this depends on screen size, and if you have a warranty on it. repair cost can exceed replacement cost on many of these, and the age, again, can make a cheaper newer unit a good option due to a better display. (also check it on a computer to see if it goes black, as well as on a different input, one input can be bad)

My son used the cord from a kettle for our LG plasma TV (we cant find the TV cord) it isnt working properly. The pixals breakup. I said we needed a audio/video specific cord.Is that right?

Hi if the cord fits the kettle and the television then great, They both run off the same electricity current meaning the electricity won't harm television or cord... Smart kid :)

  3. Verify the batteries in the remote control are good.
  4. Verify you have selected the right input for Cable/Satellite, antenna, DVD, VCR or Game Console.

My son opened the service plug in thinking it was the optical output now the tv will not power on. Is there a way to reset it?

One thing you could try: Unplug the power cord for 10 minutes. Hold down power button on side of unit for 30 seconds with power cord out. Plug power cable back in, make sure you have disconnected everything else from the TV except the antenna input. Power back on. If the power comes on, do a system reset operation by going into the menu and selecting it (under the "setup" options).

Toshiba Model: SD-V295 DVD/VCR Combo Setup for TV recording

The proper hookup is antenna or cable into the VCR RF/antenna input, then VCR RF/antenna output to the TV RF input. The hookup you describe means no signal is getting to the VCR.

With some TVs, there can be Video and audio output jacks which can be hooked to the video and audio jacks of the VCR. However this would likely mean you could only record the channel being watched, and, the TV would have to be on.

How do you replace the capacitor that receives the end of the cable wire?

If that connector is supose to be connected to the tuner, a long rectangular box, then most likly the tuner will need to be replace, and on a set like this I looked up a rebuilt tuner and the cost will be 58.00 from PTScorp, but is not for a novice to do.. it should be done by a pro so therefor its probably not worth fixing. If its part of a small square box that a wire attaches to the tuner. that part should be available and is know as an antenna block assy. This should be no problem for you to fix.. good Luck ps please dont forget to rate this thread
