Planning to upgrade my RAM(motherboard K7SOM + V7.5 C
Planning to upgrade my RAM(motherboard K7SOM + V7.5C).There are two types, high & low density. Which suits my motherboard? What is the difference? Thanks.

According to the specifications of you PC's motherboard. It supports DDR266 PC2100 type of RAM and only a maximum of 1gb RAM can be installed. If you have 512mb total of RAM right now, it is advisable to upgrade for a better performance of your PC.

I would say no because the cpu does not exist anymore.
The only thing you can upgrade is the harddrive and the ram module.
The mainboard uses SDram and DDR ram in there own seperate block. Sdram is hard to find and expensive. DDRram can still be bought. The specifications:
PROCESSORS
462 pin Socket A supports the AMD K7 processors
Full series of Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron processors
CHIPSET
SiS 740 & SiS 961/962 Chipset
SiS 740 Host/Memory controller with high quality 3D graphic accelerator
SiS 961/961B/962 MuTIOL Media I/O
Integrated USB 2.0 host controller in SiS 962
LPC I/O -ITE8705F
LAN: MAC integrated in SiS 961/961B/962 and PHY on board
AC97 Audio Codec: Compliant with AC97 2.2 specification
SYSTEM BIOS
AMI 2MB Flash EEPROM
Supports Plug and Play 1.0A, AMP 1.2, Multi Boot, DMI
Support for ACPI revision 1.0 specification
MEMORY
2 DDR DIMM Sockets and 2 DIMM sockets support (can not be used
simultaneously)
Two 184-pin 2.5V DDR SDRAM (DDR266/200) or
Two 168-pin 3.3V SDRAM (PC133/PC100)
Maximum: 2GB (DDR SDRAM or SDRAM)
I/O INTERFACE
On this motherboard you can use:
AMD Athlon (Highest being the Athlon 1400C running at 1.4GHz) AMD Duron (Highest being the Duron 1800 running at 1.8GHz) AMD Athlon XP (Highest being the Athlon XP 3200+ running at 2.3GHz) AMD Athlon MP (Highest being the Athlon MP 2800+ running at 2.1GHz) AMD Sempron (Highest being the Sempron 3300+ running at 2.2GHz)
Look at the sticks of RAM -- "high" density means fewer chips on each side of the stick, i.e., newer technology and production methods have packed more bits into each chip, while "low" density usually means 8 chips/side, using older RAM chips.
Older motherboards do not expect to find "high" density RAM, and typically will only detect 1/4 or 1/2 of the RAM on the stick.
If you buy a new motherboard, it will support BOTH densities.
high resolution is supported by high resolution monitors or LCD no matter what type of Video card are you using so first check monitor compatibility with the resolution
