This is a sign that the optics are dirty of out of alignment. The static noise comes from digital dropout or a problem with the D/A converter IC. Try cleaning the lens first using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails to resolve the problem, update this and confirm you rmodel number. I will then check for the cost of replacement optics and D/A converters.

the main fault. which is aout 99% is faulty spindle motor and faulty optical pickup flexi connector which connect to the main board, reading disc and not playing the tracks is faulty spindle motor'
sometimes read is the flexi connector, all so the 1000uf cap in power supply, screen and all buttons lit up with no display is caused by the flash, on the small plug in board, which sits on the bottom chassis, where do you get them so called expert from, they all sound like quacks

So I tried cleaning the lense like you said to no avail. I do have a working Axis 4 and an Axis 8. I tried Swapping out the cd drives and that did nothing. The drive from the 9 works in the 8 just fine. I also switched the ribbons...nothing. Any clue?
I have the same problem, did you ever manage to fix it?
