Hi, i have a notebook model HP Compaq nc6400 HSTNN-C18C...today i've formatted with windows 7 home premium 64 bit...but now i've got the problem with wifi connection...even tough in the window of network...

HP BLACK LISTS ALL NON HP WIFI CARDS(MODULES)
HP SOLD IT WITH 3 OR MORE WIFI CARDS HP FROM THEM ONLY
so wifi works at home (are you home) and wifi works on TV
other PC and cell phones, with wifi set to data?
if wifi is good then we focus on the relic nc6400 (2007 made)
the home network must have working set DNS selection too.
the 3 listed are
Choice of Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN, Broadcom 802.11a/b/g WLAN, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG 802.11 a/b/g WLAN
only those work
and only with HP drivers now gone. hp ended suport
googling them gets me endless virus infected driver, as a nice door prize(sarc off)
next time buy DELL and we can find 1000 of wifi card that work .
or cure #2
is remove the old wifi card from its slot.
then get USB wifi dongle. for w7 make sure it has support for old S7
they do work

WLAN problem

Hi,
Yes this is an OS problem. Mostly laptop vendors like ACER expects that the OS is Vista or Windows 7.

And these OS have default drivers of WLAN but unfortunately Windows XP don't have these drivers.

So you have only two options.
Either to upgrade your OS or to search for valid drivers of WLAN of Win-XP on Acer's website.

Please rate this solution properly if it was helpful to you.

With Regards,

How do I set-up my WLAN card to my HP iPAQ Hw6515

The HP IPAQ 6515 will support WLAN access via a SDIO WIFI card (which looks like a 'long' standard SD card): it is just a bit tricky to get this add-onl SDIO WIFI card to work properly!

WLAN Driver

Get new drivers for the lan card from the lan cards web site...its not the XP OS problem...it is a problem with the drivers for the card...the one that XP is assigning to it is not an exact match.
