My Nikon Coolpix S210 transferred a picture the first time but won't anymore. I have a MaxPro and it won't complete the transfer anymore. What to do?
I used to use an older Mac and could transfer with no problem, but when I bought the Nikon S210 the manual said my computer was too old to use its software, so I just bought a new laptop.
The laptop has Snow Leopard and is new to me so I'm not used to it yet. I had one picture of my art work on my new Nikon Coolpix. I wanted a digital picture to send onIine so I tried to install the Nikon software but the CD wouldn't go in the laptop. I tried to use the already installed iPhoto software. It worked the first time, but when I took a better picture it would not transfer. HELP. Please.
Nikon's software won't support Snow Leopard. They claim they are working on it, but can't give an estimate on when they will have a compatible version. I had the same thing happen, where it worked once, and then stopped. I also discovered that I could not even directly connect my Coolpix with a cable and have it recognized.
An external card reader is the way to go, but if your SD card is 4Gb or larger, make sure you are getting a SDHC compatible card reader. It will mount the card like a regular hard drive, and you can transfer photos from there.
Buy an inexpensive card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can do anything you wish.
