The pump is leaking. LG not much help. My husband can't get itappart to get to impeller. Does anyone know how to take it apart or have a service manual

They make them so that they are very difficult to get apart without special tools. You'll need a ''pump repair'' tech. They _do_ exist, but these days repair can cost more than ''replace.''

It _shouldn't_ be that way, but unfortunately that is the reality.

I'm trying to repair a leak coming from the spout. I don't know where the washer would be. Do I have to replace the whole cartridge? It doesn't seem to come apart to find the washer.

If you faucet is leaking, try this simple step to see if it will stop. First, turn the water supply line off under the sink. Next, open the valve that is leaking all the way open. Take a wrench and tighten the nut just below the faucet handle. Now turn the vale to off and open your supply line and then test the faucet again. What you are doing here is tightning the packing nut inside the faucet. Good luck.

I have a Roper RTW4340SQ0 washer that leaks profusely when it fills and throughout the washing cycles. I've checked the water valve and all the hoses associated with it as well as the pump and all the...

This model is direct drive with a front mounted drain pump. The drain pump is THE most common leak location on these type washers! The pumps do NOT generally leak at the hoses, but from the impeller side between the pump and motor. There will be a telltale water mark on motor side of the pump shell. It can easily be fixed by popping the 2 retaining clips, removing the two drain hoses, and pulling off the old plastic pump, replacing it in the reverse order after cleaning the end of the motor shaft. Pumps run about 30 dollars. If you are sure this isn't the culprit, check for signs of leakage between the tub center and transmission, there is a tub gasket there. The tub itself, is not likey to leak, it is one piece with heat welded seams.Go to Youtube and search Whirlpool washing machine repairs, there are a number of instructional videos that show you exactly how to repair these machines and save yourself a lot of money. Incidentally Roper is built by Whirlpool, that's why I said search with that name.

Hope this sheds some light on the problem

Washer leaking water as soon as water starts into the tub.Washer only 3 years old

If you have a leak, the most common cause is a worn drain pump, leaking drain hoses or the hose to the air dome has come loose. You will need to remove the exterior case of the washer to be sure. DO NOT lay the washer on its back. The gearcase contains oil and it may leak through the breather hole.

The following link explains how to inspect your washer for leaks:

If the drain pump is leaking, it is not serviceable and must be replaced, the following link explains how to replace one:

Roper washer leaks when filling

It's in the drain hose somewhere, during the fill the water gets as deep in the drain hose as it does in the washer, during the wash the pump runs in reverse keeping the water level in the hose low, during the drain the hose is filled again.
Prop the washer up in front on a couple bricks or boards, start putting in water until it starts to leak and take a peak under the machine.
