Need manual for craftsman snowblower 42 or parts below

That doesn't look like quite the right model number for a Craftsman blower. I have not seen any in that format. They are typically all numbers and have a period after the first 3 digits, such as "536.90560"
I would take another look and see if you can find a tag that has a model number like that. It should be on the same tag as the serial number as well. If you are able to find that, you can visit http://www.searspartsdirect.com/ and put the number and specify "model number" and search. They will likely have the manual.

A model 24837 or 24831 is the correct snow blower. Both are made by AgriFab.

You can get the solution to this in two ways.
First take your model number and go to managemylife.com. You will need the first 5 numbers after the decimal in your model number (for example 88779) Go to the manuals tab and search for "Craftsman 88779" (Use the first five digits after the decimal of YOUR model number) Read through the operator's manual and see if it shows you where the cable ends are located.
Second, again with your model number, go to searspartsdirect.com. Put the whole number into the search box and select model search. Parts diagrams will pop up and you can see where the cable attaches there.
