Vizio VF550M 55 in. LCD HDTV Logo
Posted on Oct 19, 2009

I have a 55 inch visio lcd tv and the top of the screen flickers on certain tv programs. Is it the tv or the program itself? I have not seen this problem on smaller screens. When the program is in hd full screen I do not see the problem. When ever the program is split in the middle of the screen( not the full horizontal width of screen) is only when I see this problem. What can I do?

The same way you adjust your PC monitor screen; you can adjust your Visio TV. Menu button will get you into the settings and you will go to picture--then "More" --there you will find vert and horizontal adjustments...find the right one for you.

What is the width end to end not just the screen width? Visio tv model E 55-C2

Some simple math...on a 16/9 ratio TV the diagonal measure is .85 times the width...55 x..85 = 46.75 inches.

How do I get a full screen on the Visio 32 inch 1080

Many older TV programs won't fill the screen. This is not the TV's fault. You may use the stretch function on the remote, but round objects will appear oval.

I have a 55 inch vizio flat screen. it turns on but the screen fades away.

//If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Line on screen

It sounds like the actual LCD is damaged, i've seen some cases where it was a damaged cable going to the LCD screen but if the cable looks ok then it is probably the lcd screen.
