I have some Designs software that is written for Husqvarna/Viking(.HUV) or Husqvarna/Viking/PFAFF(.VIP)- my machine cannot read it. Needs Husqvarna/Viking(.SHV). Can I convert somehow?
There's a software package called Sew What Pro made by S and S Computing that will convert files to .shv and then write them to a disk. It's about $70 US and worth every penny. You can edit, resize, create text etc with this package, and it's very user friendly. Fabulous alternative to the insanely expensive Husqvarna software, and they even have a free 30 day trial.

You need the Husqvarna Viking software to turn those file extensions into the SHV format. It's about $400 at your dealer. Their web site does a nice job of showing its features. You get over 100 fonts and alot of designs too. You would open your current designs on a screen and then re-write them to the floppy or stick depending on your model of D1. It then sends the stitch information with the picture of the design to the floppy so your D1 can display the image. (The SHV format)
The VIP and HUS format don't carry the image file for your machine so it say's, "file not found", when you try to open them in your D1.

I have the save issue. for years I have been embroidering designs with the .hus file extension using my designer 1. Just recently I got this message when i tried to open a design. a local service guy replaced the floppy drive. Now my embroidery machine will only read .shv files. These are the designs I purchased from husqvarna. I don't know what happened. the repair guy said he can put in a new motherboard for a $$$ but no guarentees on whether or not that will fix my problem. what could be wrong?
