When trying to receive Bluetooth items I found that the phone will not download to the memory card. The menu item says you can select it but it still uses the on board memory.
I have moved everything off the on board memory that it allows you too and I am left with only 3.1Meg free. This is pathetic.
If you have any item/song larger than this you are out of luck.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Exactly the same problem. If you shift data you still leave a small file on the main memory which becomes so small that you can no longer dowload anything but the smallest files.Exactly the same problem. I to have problems saving any files to the memory card. You virtually need to wipe out all of your saved files to even open new texts or blue tooth transfers.

when u download anything via bluetooth it totally depends in which folder you are trying to save it. By default it's saved in ur phone memory. Kindly go to memory options and save extended memory as the place to save received files.
Purchase a USB Data Cable and download Nokia PC Suite from Nokia website. You can then transfer items from your PC to Phone and vice versa using the Data Cable.
Purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle and downbload Nokia PC Suite from the Nokia website. You can then transfer items from your PC to Phone and vice versa using
the Blutooth.
Purchase a Memory Card Reader and simply drag and drop items onto the memory card using your PC, then put the memory card back in the phone.
hi i think your phone is storing the received files in phone memory .since phone memory is very limited your phone is not able to accept new files. your have to change the setting from phone Memory to memory card 1:got to setting 2:bluetooth 3:setting 4:FTP setting 5:shared folder 6:change it to memory card folder ( before doing these steps make folder in memory card) 7:Ok
If you want to use a cable connection, go into the phone menu and select the following: Menu > Settings > Connectivity > USB Connection Mode > Mass Storage
After this, plug the phone in via the USB cable. The computer will prompt to install the modem driver which you can cancel. Then the computer should detect the memory card as a USB drive and you can copy and paste what you need.
There is one easy solution for the second question: You can set your SGH-L700 to store your photos and/or videos on your memory card. Just go to Settings -> Application Settings -> Camera Settings. Go to the rightmost section using arrow keys and change camera's default storing location as memory card, instead of phone.
The bluetooth problem is not that easy. There is one solution if you send the files from your PC. Just browse your "Bluetooth Devices" from your desktop - your SGH-L700 will appear as an independent device. Double click it's icon, you'll see the folders in it, just like you're browsing your computer's hard drive. Open "Memory Card" folder then drag and drop the files you want directly inside it. I almost always prefer this way when I use bluetooth transfer.
If you try right clicking on a file on your PC and choose "Send via Bluetooth" from the context menu, SGH-L700 receives it directly to the phone memory. So I recommend using "Bluetooth devices" option and placing the stuff directly in the memory card, just like you copy items in any place on your hard drive.
But there is not a standart solution for sending a file from another cell phone to SGH-L700. Some devices can browse SGH-L700's folders like your PC does, but some of them can't - and they just send the files to the phone memory.
1. Go into "Media" on your BlackBerry and enable incoming files (Menu-->Receive using bluetooth).
2. Find the file on your friend's device that you wish to send, and beam the said file accordingly.
2a. If you have not "paired" (created a friendship between) the two devices before, you will need to do this first...
2b. One of the devices will ask for a PIN code first and on this device
you need to create a four-digit, numeric password that can be anything
you like.
2c. On the second device, enter the four-digit, numeric password you
created and follow the simple, on-screen prompts on both devices to
complete the pairing (you can also pair the devices in advance by going
into Menu-->Set Up Bluetooth).
2d. Depending on the devices being used and the time taken to complete
the pairing, you may need to re-send the file (go back to step 1),
otherwise, continue below...
3. When your friend's device tries to send you the file, your
BlackBerry should ask you to name the file and where to save it; if you
have not set the device as "trusted" in the bluetooth settings
(Options-->Bluetooth-->your friend's device), you may need to
approve the file transfer first though.
4. The file should now be on your device.
Note: by default, all
* Pictures are saved into /Device Memory/home/user/pictures or /Media Card/BlackBerry/pictures if you have a memory card.
* Sounds (including songs) are saved into /Device
Memory/home/user/ringtones/ or /Media Card/BlackBerry/ringtones/ if you
have a memory card.
* Videos are saved /Device Memory/home/user/videos or /Media Card/BlackBerry/videos if you have a memory card.
In other words, unless you specify somewhere else in step 3, this is where you will find your file.
And remember, your incoming file transfer WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU
FIRST "PAIR" (CREATE A FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN) THE DEVICES, go into Media
and CLICK MENU-->RECEIVE USING BLUETOOTH!!!
I had a similar problem. I did not get a USB cord with my phone. I found that if you insert the microSD card into your computer a folder opens that says Secure Digital Storage Device (E:). I have iTunes. I don't purchase music from the store (which is an option) but I download my cds to the program. If you highlight a song from the iTunes and then right click and select copy then open up the tab for the Secure Digital Storage Device (E:) then paste the item. Remove the card from your computer and put the smaller card into your phone. Hit the menu button. Then hit the folder button located on the right side of the screen. Then select the more button. Then select the memory card. This will allow you to access the item you have on the card. If you wish to download the item to the phone memory (meaning you can remove the card and the item will remain on the phone) you select the option button and hit copy - it will then give a prompt asking if you want to copy it to the handset memory or the memory card - select the handset memory. After this is complete you will be able to remove the microSD and still be able to access the item you downloaded.
There is no MMC default as sugested. Thanks
