HL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-T20L For a few days now I`m having problems with my CD-Rom drive HL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-T20L. It`ll read CDs but no self burned DVDs, which it did before without problems. This problem exists under DOS as well as Windows XP and Windows 7.
Try cleaning with a good quality dvd cleaner. The lens is probably dirty for the dvd part. After cleaning try a known good dvd and see if the problem is cured. Hope this helps.

It's time to spend $40 to buy a replacement CD/DVD-writer. There's no way to "fix" your "half-gassed" DVD-drive. A technician would charge at least $25 to _look_ at your computer. Instead, "invest" the $25 in a replacement.
sure ...just look for the driver on your laptop site ..and reinstall it ...this should fix the problem ..if not ...restoring the OS or reinstalling it will fix it too
first of all check that ur laptop is not infected by viruses,because sometimes it happens due to virus...
make sure that the DVD you r trying to run is scratch free....ans is clean...
