I am trying to set up my wireless ''all in one'' printer which includes a fax machine. i want to use my magic jack as my dedicated fax line. but my fax set up doesn't seem to recognize my magic jack. any solutions?
MagicJack does not work with all fax machines. If you can find it you must turn off ECM or error correction mode. Also select the slowest transmission speed possible. If you have the manual for it you should be able to find the settings in there.
I have an HP J6480 AOI Printer. I found lowering the baud rate from fast to medium works well. I just sent my 13th multupage fax without a problem.

Can I fax using Magic Jack? This is a popular question. They do not support faxes, but the answer is yes. You may need to do some tweaking. However, not much tweaking. First, turn off error correction on your fax machine or program. Then, set the fax machine or program to use the slowest speed available. The slowest speed will ensure a fax goes through. You may increase later to find the highest speed at which a fax can be received.

I had same problem when I used the dual jack. I had to change it. I had the dual jack which would make it easier to use when I was going to send a fax.
Good Luck

I was searching for an answer to this to make sure my new MX870 is correctly set to receive faxes. Here's one answer I came across:
First set Tel-Priority, turn off incoming ring, turn on manual/auto switch, then check how many seconds it takes for your answering machine to come on, and set it a couple of seconds after that. This should do the trick.
