Overscan is there a way to adjust the overscan? i am missing text from top and bottom.

  • bengalfan909 May 11, 2010

I have the same problem but these menu options don't work for me. The only thing I seem to be able to get into is menu 123 which is a restore factory default menu. I don't want to do that. Should these codes work with the ws65313 or there others I could try?

Overscan

Yes, if you have the original remote and get into the adjustment menu which is hidden you can adjust width, height, and centering if you want.

The picture has ''zoomed'' out. can't read text on scroll bars. fuz

Please try using the zoom button on a universal remote. The button on the remote may no longer be working. Otherwise the best way is to open the set and test each capacitor and transistor with a multimeter to see which ones if any need to be replaced.

Panasonic viera doesn't display computer correctly

I have had what is fundamentally the same problem. I have a desktop PC that I am plugging in to my Panasonic Viera TX-32LZD80. I am using DVI connection plugged in to HDMI port.

The solution is fairly simple; use the Menu button on the TV remote to get to the Main Menu for the TV and then select Setup which should be the fourth of four options. This will get you to the Setup Menu for the TV for the current channel. Look for the Picture Overscan option, it will very probably be set to On if you have the problem of %5 or so of display being missing on all sides.

Switch Picture Overscan to Off.

This immediately should solve your problem. A note of warning on this is that I suspected this was the problem but when I first looked at the Setup Menu I could not find the Picture Overscan option.

If you are unable to find the Picture Overscan option then trying fiddling with the Aspect settings. You will probably find it set to Auto. Switch it to 16:9 and you should find the Picture Overscan option will be available from the Setup Menu.

Hope it works for you.

Picture Size

Also, try adjusting the settings on your cable box, not on the TV. The usually solves the problem and will then allow you to adjust the size of the picture.

Auto Convergence failed becuase PS52800 failed to detect one of my Sensors?

The overscan would certainly cause auto convergence failures since the beam the CRT's shoot out are on the corners and upper center and lower center. Being too dark can also cause issues since one of the CRT beams might not be bright enough for the sensors to register. I would first have someone adjust the vertical size if the top and bottom of the frame are somewhat cutoff.
