Konka crt tv model k1998 have only horizontal line on screen .

Check and replace the damaged component/s at its vertical scan output section circuit. The vertical scan is absent now. Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

When turned on you view only a vertical line. i beleave a power surge caused this. what part or parts do i need to replace. mod no-ps35123. tnank you

There is no vertical chip in this model/ ctc 169.
it's a transistor- resistor - cap circuit.
It's either the yoke wires on neck of the tube have
become de-soldered or the more likely possibility
is the viliot / white wire from the yoke have simply
become de-soldered if you first re-solder those two
wire chances are good you will restore full picturerepairtech99.jpg

Re: Panasonic CTV TC-20V50P

Hi, Possibly an open resistor in the 100 Mega Ohms range (On some models as high as 470M). Either in series or parallel to ground of the G1, G2 or Screen supply. This would normally be in the PCB at the rear/neck of the picture tube. Of course, it is also possible that the Screen adjustment or the FBT itself is already faulty. Hope this be of some help. Good luck and kind regards.

Picture has a horizontal row

this symptom is caused by a trouble in the integrated circuit of in the vertical oscillator circuit. try to look if your tv has a vertical hold control at the back or inside, if it does not have, u have a problem in the vertical oscillator circuit. by the way, its not the horizontal that u should concentrate into, its the vertical. coz this is a vertical sync problem.
