Remove you memory card

turn camera ON > Press Menu > go to setup menu> format internal memory>
take 1-2 picture > reconnect your camera to the computer>

if the camera will be recognized> reinsert the MMC> format the MMC > it will delete all your pictures including the corrupted ones

most of the time its just a MMC issue

good luck

Search Google for a driver for the specific camera. Or download a copy of Kodak Easyshare. If you already have Easyshare software installed, try re-installing or updating.

My installation CD for my Kodak Easy Share C913 is broken, is there free software to install the camera? I use Windows 7. The Installation CD is version 7

You can download Kodak software from
http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/list/c/890/selected/true

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

My kodak easyshare c913 turns of when hooked up to usb

Try opening the Kodak software first, then turn the camera on. I've found that you need the Kodak program to transfer the pictures from the camera. I personally do not like this, my old camera (also Kodak) would act like a plane old flash card/removeable device, this new one doesn't.
Anyhow, I find it super easy to just take the SD card out and pop it into the media slot in my printer. Then just open explorer and it's there just like any other hard drive or CD/DVD drive and transfer them to where ever you like.
If your printer or computer doesn't have a slot for SD cards you can get one that plugs into a USB port, pretty cheaply at any store that sells computer products.

Transferring pictures

I have the same problem, that it's not recognized. I am looking into seeing if it's the new service pack from windows. Or the crappy usb cord, mine is too tight.
