My 2005 Chevy Malibu's 6 CD changer will not play CD's, and will not eject them either. When I press the eject button it appears to try and eject as I hear movement but after a short bit of clicks I get a...

Extreme heat can cause warping and the cd will not evenly eject or exit the slot. the player may have to be removed and the cd physically extracted from the player. Delco players have a lot of plastic cogs, flywheels and gears in them that get old and crack or split. Hence, the player can no longer spit out the CD.

Cd will not eject. Keeps giving message "Now OPC" but will not do anything and will not eject cd either.

To remove a stuck CD from Tascam CC222 MKII

This solved the "Now OPC" problem

1. Unplug unit

2. Remove the top cover, (3 screws on each side and 3 on the back, lift cover).

3. Plug in unit.

4. Power on the unit to observe the drive spindle spinning clockwise, (1" disc on top of drive).

5. Turn off unit, do not unplug at this time.

6. Use a small screwdriver to prevent the drive spindle from spinning.

7. Power on the unit preventing the spin.

8. In approximately 10 seconds the display will read "Disc Error" and the CD tray will open.

9. Remove the screwdriver and the disc.

10. Turn off the unit and unplug.

11. Replace the cover.

12. Use a better quality disc.

6 disk CD changer is broken!

Hello, I just removed the 6-disc player from my 2001 Trooper. To remove it: 1) Remove the two screws above the radio area in the black faceplate 2) Remove the one screw located between the ash tray and the lighter. 3) Remove the four screws (two on each side) from the front center console cover and pull it back (you will need to shift into 2 or L) 4) Pop the black face plate off (there are some metal brackets holding it on that need some light force to pull out. Nothing should break) 5) There are two screws for the CD player and two screws for the radio. Unscrewing them will allow you to pull out the radio and disconnect the smaller CD wiring harness, then you can pull out the CD player.
When I unscrewed the CD player unit, I found that there are six plastic halos that hold each disc and move them up and down as selected. These had broken in some places and the discs had dropped to the bottom and stacked, so nothing could move...hence the clicking sound. Because there was a severe jam, nothing else could be loaded either...hence the error message. I'm attempting to superglue the pieces back together to see if I can reset it. Otherwise, I'd recommend you replace the unit (most likely what I'll do).
Hope this helps!
