My Vizio went green in the middle of a movie. mainly the dark spots go green then whole screen certain scenes of a movie will look great next scene go green. when i select the menu on the TV the green goes away and the picture looks fine but i take it off and it goes back to green. I tried all settings and colors and it will better for a bit then go back.
OK Service tech came out last night (7pm) and repalces the main board and updated firmware to the latest. he said the red/green snow is a fairly common problem with the early units (mine was a july 2006 build). Picture is fine now but we will see how long the fix lasts. Main board was definitely the issue, firmware upgrade was prob just because they could.
Keep in mind this unit was OUT of warranty. I find it refreshing that Vizio took responsibility and set up a service ticket for a 16 month old unit. Not that they shouldn't last a lot longer but they could have just said tough luck.
The same thing happened to me Twice!. First time it was under warranty. Now it it out and Vizio has not interest in helping me. The first time the repair man changed the motherboard, which worked for about a year. Looks like I will be buying a new TV soon, but certainly NOT a Vizio, they are junk
Anyone out there know how much a motherboard costs?
Motherboard (main board) cost around $140
Bad display

I have a similar issue which comes as a green blush in some scenes and not in others, It happens occasionally but is annoying (p42) 14 Mo Old. Tried different sources and it is definitely the set
i have had it for about three weeks when u turn the tv on the picture is great then about 10 minutes later there are green blotches and fuzzy green around the edges
I just bought a new Vizio 42'' Class 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV w/ Digital Tuner last month and just recently on curtain colors a snowing red is appearing; mostly on black. I'm not too sure what is causing this; it seems to be happening more in the last week.
Bought VO47LF HDTV right after Xmas (exchanged a diff set). Video was great for 4 weeks. Then all of a sudden, watching a basketball game in HD on cable, green fuzz starts appearing on dark colors (mainly reds and blacks) until it gradually creeps across the entire screen! I immediately popped in a DVD to see if it was the cable signal or the set, and it was present with the DVD as well. Vizio tech support was very accommodating, but I will prob will exchange this unit for a new one. Thinking about the Toshiba Regza 42XV540U.
My blotches are blue. On sunday 4/26 I turned on my Vizio LCD t.v. (model #GV42L FHDTV10A) and therewere blue blotchy patches in dark and/or black areas of the picture. Inorange areas, there are purple-ish blotches also.
This has occured before, about 8 months ago, but it was only alittle bit and it went away after a few days. This case is much worse.
I have a video of it:

It also has been shutting itself off during a program and turns itself back on. The picture has also been turning awfully dark during certain parts of a program or movie. FRUSTERATED
