I am having trouble with my back wheels on my Electrolux 2100 canister vacuum. They will spin when the vac is upside down, but just drag when I pull the vac across my hard wood floors. Can you tell me...

Hi,

It seems that the bearings of the wheel may have given, one reason why it will spin if in an upside down position but will drag if the right side up and with weight on it.

i do not see a locking mechanism on the wheels of you Vacuum, i believe having the wheels replaced will be the only solution to the concern.

The power chord on the 2100 electrolux will not retract

Try standing the vacuum on end, or at a near vertical position, and gently tugging on the cord a few times. This will usually cause it to retract. The problem is usually caused by pulling the cord out too far. Avoid doing this as it can result in disconnecting or breaking terminals and/or wiring.

My Electrolux Aerus auto rewind chord mechanism is broken. Is there an easy way to remove the back of the canister to replace or fix the spring there?

Take out the bag and keep the door open.
While the bag door is still open, turn the machine upside down so you are looking at the serial number.
Pull the cord out one foot.
Use a puddy knife and put it between the rubber side rails and the **** end of the machine.
Use a hammer or malett to hit the putty knife from the back of the rubber bumber toward the bag door.
Pull the rubber bumber stright out on both sides.
Once both bumpers are out pull the lower body of the canister from the **** end toward the intake of the machine.
Once the bottom is open you can then service the motor, cord winder, switch, and all other components.

I am looking to buy a used electrolux vacuum cleaner. I have the choice between the ultralux, the marquise, the diamond jubilee, and the olympia. Which one is the best model? Which has the best...

The Ultralux is the newest of your list. The Olympia has the old type powernozzel that is rectangular. The rest have the new L shaped powernozzel and the brush is longer. As to the performance, the three newer vacuums should be the same. If the vacuums are used and not rebuilt, I would select the Ultralux. The Marquise had a motor issue when they came out and if the motor has not been changed I would stear clear of it. I changed 37 motors in one month under warranty. They did rectify the problem with the later models of the Ultralux.

ELECTROLUX / ULTRALUX VACUUM

I assume that you are talking about the power head for cleaning carpets. If so I have a spare.
