TV volume increases by itself and doesn't decrease or respond to the remote control

My philips TV volume just suddenly while watching TV increases by itself up to 100 (the highest) and when you try to use the remote control to reduce the volume, it doesn't respond at all. So I switch it off from the mains and switch it on again. Sometimes, it comes on and is normal, sometimes, it still stays up. In fact, you can see the blue light flashing as though someone is using the control to increase the volume. If you leave it for a while, the light may stop flashing and you can reduce the volume with the control. Other times, no matter what you do, it's uncontrollable with the control. Please note that the only part of the TV affected is the volume.
I'd be VERY grateful for some help!

Exact same problem, volume goes up suddenly, tv has been working ok for months and all of a sudden has started doing this.

Tried taking all batteries out of remote to ensure it wasn't faulty remote causing volume to go up but still happens.

I too have the same problem! Yesterday it automatically went up to 100 on the volume control, fought with the control to bring it down, it did this a few times and then went up and wouldnt come back down!

    Is there any known cure???

Apparently this seems to be a known issue for this model. I called Phillips and they did not even bother asking me to try things like switch off and on again etc...They just said they are going to send someone to pick it up and fix it. I would suggest to everyone to do the same since it has to be free of charge because the problem appears in pretty much every tv set of this model.

The volume control works to decrease volume but is very difficult when trying to increase volume

This may be an issue with the button itself getting caught on the plastic bezel of the remote. Sometimes this happens when the remote is dropped or the plastic bezel is nicked.
My recommendation is to reprogram the device you are trying to control the volume of. This issue may occur when the incorrect IR code is programmed into the remote. Some IR codes may work intermittently and as rolling codes. Check the program and respond if problems persist.

i think that there is a shorted buttons or in normally close position, try to press each buttons slowly and you will feel something that is ticking if one of the buttons does not tick it is damage it is in normally close position that will be the cause of the problem. specially check the volume button.

LG TV 32H3300 - volume increasing and decreasing by itself. It will increase if it was turned up via remote last and then will decrease by itself when volume is decreased via remote because it was too...

The cause of the problem is that the switch of your tv is dirty when cleaning it you must be familiar to the unit and the parts you will remove to prevent any damage you can use a contact cleaner, when applying a contact cleaner you must only spray it to the switch. Consult a expert technician to do it for you actual.

We cannot increase or decrease the sound. There does not appear to be a volume control on the set and it does not respond to the remote. The remote is working in all other respects.

Make sure the speakers are turned on in the audio menu. Usually when the speakers are turned off the set goes into a fixed sound level at the audio output jacks. These jacks are used for external amplifiers, etc. Hope this helps. Thanks
