Transferring MP3 files from PC "C" drive "My Music" folder to SD card

I purchased 4 - 2GB SD SanDisk cards to have my music stored on for my ILO MP3 player. I highlighted the files in "My Music" folder on my PC and copy them (using EDIT), and paste them in the SD SanDisk card folder. Only about 190 songs out of 300-400 copied actually came over to the SD card. The others give me an error message about it not being a correct something - file format, ???? Anyway, the music that does come over to the card does play beautifully, but why don't they all transfer? They are all recorded in MP3 format in "My Music" folder on my "C" drive and just certain one will transfer.

Please help me? Could you send the answer to me at [email protected] as I may not be able to find this webpage again. God bless you, Karen

You may want to try downloading only those that didn't download the first time. Sometimes when you try to download a large file (all the songs) it causes the "error message" you talk about. You may want to delete files already downloaded, or save the files downloaded to a different file folder, and try the download again.

Have Samsung Freeform II. Just purchased a Sandisk 16GB micro memory card. Phone recognizes card and full capacity. Have moved mp3 podcast files to music folder. Can see all files on memory card with...

IN ALMOST ALL PHONE WHENEVER WE USE MUSIC PLAYER IT CREATE A 'MY MUSIC' FOLDER IN MEMORY CARD.IN SOME PHONE IT CAN ONLY READ THOSE FILE WHICH ARE IN THIS FOLDER. SO WHAT YOU HAVE TO IS TO MOVE YOUR MP3 FILES TO 'MY MUSIC' FILE.
IF MY MUSIC FOLDER IS NOT THERE THEN MOVE ALL MUSIC FILE TO FOLDER WHICH HAS THOSE THREE MP3 FILE.MOVE ALL FILE THERE.
NOW YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE ALL MP3 FILES IN MUSIC PLAYER.
SAME RULES APPLY TO VIDEO PLAYER.
THANKS FOR USING FIXYA.

I have a problem with my Sansa e250.... Whenever I put the sd card in it doesn't do anything or say anything that proves there's an sd card in it or neither does it show any songs that are in the sd card?...

First, make sure it's a microSD card, not a microSDHC card. Then, make sure the files are in the proper folders. Your music needs to be in a folder named "MUSIC."

Is it possible to play the songs stored in the SD card when inserted in Sansa e260

Yes. However, all your music must be in a folder called "MUSIC".

BTW it's a microSD card, not an SD card.

Im trying to put music on my memory card and it says ive used 65 KB but when i go through my folders on the memory card theres nothing in there they are all empty but i cant put anything on the folder...

Make sure the music isn't going to the device the card is in. The cell phone pocket pc, laptop, netbook or wherever. You probaby don't see anything in the sd file because the music is another file using up the maximum available storage space. By using the mobile center you can drag and drop music files directly to the sd card file.

Doesn't show mp3 files on micro sd card

You have to drag and drop only the MP3 files into the music folder. If you have them organized and in folder by artist, drag only the MP3s into the card's Music folder.

Motorola i880

if your computer has flash card readers, you would need to use a micro sd card to be able to use in on your computer. if your computer/laptop does not have a card reader, you would need to buy a data cable for your phone. if you use your pc/laptop's card reader, open your MY COMPUTER folder and it will be drive E. if you use a data cable, your phone should've came with a software cd when you bought it. you have to install your phone's software on your pc/laptop for transferring files using the data cable.

to put songs on the card for your phone to use, you just drag and drop the mp3 file to the MUSIC folder of the card. a lot of people make the mistake of putting it in the AUDIO folder. the phones music player CANNOT read files in the AUDIO folder. it only reads the music files if it's in the MUSIC FOLDER.

Got a new SD Card + Card Reader but when I download my music on it...

You cannot just move WMA songs onto the card and play in the MP3 player. MP3 format may work this way, but for sure the player only seems to be able to recongize WMA files when syncd through Windows Media with the USB cord attached. Be sure the DESELECT 'copy folder hierecy' under the sync options/properties of the MP3 player drive or SD card drive.

When using XP Pro and Windows Media Player you can transfer WMA but you have to go into the PROPERTIES of the drive (mine was mp-556/G: drive) and DESELECT the option to transfer folder hierecy. The MP3 player is not able to reconginize the folder structure it usually creates.

This player only seems to be able to transfer MP3 format with Vista, using windows media player sync. I can syne MP3s formats, but not WMAs at all. Unless someone found otherwise
