Hello
There could be a couple things wrong.
1 ram sticks or a stick is not seated properly.Double check.
2 motherboard can not handle 2 gb of ram.Remove 1 and then try it.
3 ram is the wrong type.or 1 stick is bad.Try one at a time and verify ram is correct type.
How much RAM is installed in your laptop? Most laptops can take up to 2GB which is enough for most any games. Find your Owners Manual (on your hard drive) to find directions to find the memory's location. I have a Toshiba Satellite A105 and the memory is behind a panel hedld in place by a Philips screw labeled "4" in a circle, if that is any help.
Looking at the specs, the max is 2gb for your Toshiba. According to this website, its only a 256mb ddr sdram. So my guess is you only have 1 slot for the ram. I'd go with a 2gb ram if you can afford it, 1gb just don't cut it in todays technology.
I believe its the PC2700 model, so find a 1gb or 2gb PC2700 @ 333mhz and you should be set.
Increasing the RAM does not harm machine it will be faster while accessing multiple applications on the operating system it's very good to have 2GB RAM on a Laptop .Normally u get 1GB RAM on a laptop when u buy
You will need to remove the 2-512MB ram that are installed on your computer and buy 2-1GB sticks. There is no other way around this. Download CPU-Z program to find exact memory module needed before you buy the wrong one. Good luck.
