Okay, we need to uninstall the printer. Go to Devices and printers~right click on the HP printer and left click on Remove device. Then reboot. The correct drivers should get installed automatically. If not use the installation CD that came with the printer or better still (if the printer is old) go to the HP web site and download the Win 7 drivers/software for the F4400.

How do I make my hp deskjet f4100 wireless?

I've been using an HP F4100 printer at our office for almost 2 years which is connected to another computer, using wireless network connection. As far as I can remember, I installed the driver on my laptop prior to adding the printer via the "Add a Printer" wizard. After installation and upon using the wizard which automatically detects the network printer, I was already able to start printing in wireless mode. Hope this works for you too. =)

Try running the CD that came with the printer Before you connect the printer, then at some point in the setup process it should ask you to connect the printer. When you do that, it should detect it correctly and proceed with the installation.

It might also be useful to use a different USB socket when you are connecting the printer, just to be sure that it's not trying to install any other drivers it may have already picked up for the unit.

HP Deskjet F4100 Series willnot print..uninstalled and reinstalled...still nothing

HP printers are interesting.
Uninstall the printer, now disconnect it and reboot.
Install the drivers WITHOUT plugging the printer in until it tells you to do so.

I have found that this problem is usually caused by installing the driver with the HP printer connected.
