When i put in a dvd my computer plays only audio and no video and when i download a movie it will only play the audion no video no matter what i do .... i have divx, vlc, and nero and media player please help me iam going crazy

You may need to install WinDVD , Interactual Video player, or some similar video player software. The drive will read data CD's and DVD's with Windows , but it needs video codecs (supplied with the video player software) to play DVD movies and media.

I wish, I can know the operating system installed on your computer and the exact error message that you are seeing on the screen. Anyway, try this.. first download and install this.. (Microsoft uaa bus on high definition audio driver). Open the link and click "Download" button and save it. After it's installed, download anyone of these..(select your Operating System):
1. Realtek High Definition audio driver for windows xp and previous windows versions.

2. Realtek High Definition Audion Driver for Windows Vista 32

Download and install the drivers, restart your computer and try playing songs/movies etc.. using the Windows Media Player. It'll work fine.

Age of your DVD player in bedroom might be old and not recognize all formats of today.

The exact model of DVD player matters. Not all models can play a Computer burned disc.
There are several types of DVD
A factory type DVD in DVD format
A burned movie in MPEG format
a burned disc in DivX format.
Etc.
Try burning the disc with a DVD Creator program, not just 'Burn to DVD'. It's not the same thing.

Convert video to .avi or DVD (Audio TS- Video VS) format.
Many common dvd players can play .avi files
(.avi files are very compact).
All dvd players play TS/VS format.

Well you can rip your DVD to any external drive using and third party DVD ripping software ,once you do that you will get a AVI,MPEG and any common fomats your DVD player supports

Inorder to play those files in your DVD player ,you need the check whether your DVD has a USB input port or else if you laptop or computer has a S-video out put and your TV has S-Video input ;you can play directly from your laptop/computer to the TV using a S-video Cable which is available in any Computer shop.

This was probably caused by an update,just reinstall your DVD encoder/decoder software.

you need
this,http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/, go and download a dvd decrypter this downloads the dvd from your dvd drived on to your computer,
if you already have a video file that dosen't go on. download the video to ipod format converter this will covert the video file into a file your ipod will recognise.

well.. philips dvd 622 is a good dvd player.. but it won paly any pirated versions of dvd's ..though u download it from net..check for the good versions. also check whether is a rip or zip file k.
