Since a few days ago the screen on my phone isn't working anymore. it is all black, except for when i first turn it on, it is white for about a minute. the only way i know my phone is on is because they keys are lit up. i can still make and receive calls. is there anything i can do to fix it? (i havent dropped my phone for a few weeks, and there is no water damage)

Water or anything liquid is an enemy to anything electronics. The phone is water damaged. And needs thorough servicing with ultrasonic and rework station or hot air gun. Cos the water residue has caused a flux or short on the resistors on the motherboard and they need to be cleaned or replaced. So Sorry samantha there's nothing you can do here except to take the device to any repair centre near you.
open the device and clean lcd connector and board with alcohol, wait 1 hours and then try, this will solve your problem, if problem persist that mean your lcd is damaged you need to change.
The screen does not appears when it is caused with water damage problem.
I would like to suggest you to service the handset or it might cause other damages also.

hello basicly the the liquid is the lcd that lays between the screen that gives you the display if this fluid escapes it will no longer display properly and as it leaks more display will be lost ,to solve you will need to replace the screen
