Hi,

If I got the issue correct the washing machine is leaking specially from the in front of your top loading washing machine.

Leaking water from a washing machine usually comes from hoses or connections. Be sure that water appearing to be a leak isn’t drain water from a backed-up standpipe. To prevent potential flood damage, which can occur if washing machine supply hoses burst, be sure to install “no-burst” stainless-steel mesh hoses and lever-type shutoff valves, as shown below. With these, you can easily turn off the levers for both hot and cold water between wash days.

1) Check the fittings where the hoses connect to the faucets and to the back of the washing machine. Also look for worn or leaky hoses. Tighten couplings or hose clamps if needed, or replace the hoses altogether. Be sure to turn the water off before removing the hoses, and drain them into a bucket after disconnecting them.

2) Determine whether the machine is overwashing, which can cause the machine to overflow. Reduce suds by pouring 1/2 cup white vinegar in 1 quart water into the washer. Then switch to either less detergent or a low-washing variety.

3) The machine may have a faulty basket gasket or tub seal and bearing that must be replaced; in this case, call an appliance repair person.

Whirlpool Duet Sport WFW8500SR01 washing machine. Leaks behind the cement cast.

Question edited for clarity and spelling.

The cement is a balance weight. The leak can't be from the concrete block itself, so it must be from where the concrete block is fitted to the drum. If you can dry it thoroughly, yes you can seal around it with silicone caulking.

What is a steeple cast in fly fishing

A steeple cast is a move made by sending the fly high above you to backcast, rather than behind you as would normally be done. When the fly is high, you snap it forward to its target. The steeple cast is used when there is no adequate space at your back for a normal backcast. Wanna see it? Look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxpz-rO9Dbc

96 buickskylark leaking anitfreeze could it a hose or freeze plug or heatercord leaking in the back of the engine.

  • When your heater core leaks it will not leak in the engine bay. The heater core is behind the dash and will make the passenger side floorboard wet. Also the windows will fog when on defrost and a sweet smell will take over the cabin. I don't suspect the heater core. BUT the heater core hoses are against the firewall and one could have cracked a leak. You will notice this though. You will see two smaller hoses going into the firewall on the passenger side of the vehicle. If they are leaking they are an easy spot.

  • Your water pump is more in the mid section on top of the belt drive system. Water could be splattering back there but if you see it steadily leaking from back there with the vehicle off then I would not suspect the water pump.

  • Freeze plugs are where the engine sits as it is cast, when being made. The holes that are left when the engine is lifted after casting are where the freeze plugs go. This is where the antifreeze circulates around the block to keep the engine cool. This is what I suspect is the problem. If that freeze plug is accessible the you can replace it no problem. If it is not then you may have to take it to a repair shop so they can lift the engine up a bit and replace it.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

My mb100 van 1997 model has water leak at the back rear engine.the radiator is ok and the water pump.is there a water hose or port at the rear side of the engine?what and where is the cause? thanks, ermee

You may have a leaking core or welsh plug. This is a large disk which is used to block off the holes left behind by the casting process during manufacture. They are easy to replace but difficult to access.. It may also be a leaking hose or even a cylinder head gasket but I would suspect a welsh plug first. Take the vehicle to your local garage and get them to pressure test the cooling system, this will show up the leak a lot easier..

My car over heats, and behinde the alternater, water leaks from a little fuse like thing

if it's a 2 inch silver plug, it's a core plug to remove sand from the block when it is cast. Replace the core plug with a rubber one with a bolt that you tighten to seal it.

Where do I find the head casting, block casting

the block casting when you are looking at the rear of the engine would be where the bellhousing bolts to the engine on the top-left side of the engine, the head casting should be on the left side head when looking from the back torwards the middle-bottom,and the crank cast should be behind the flywheel on the engine

Jetta TDI Coolant leak from behind tming belt.

hi from uk from the symptom/location you say water leak is coming from ? this is most likely to be the water pump that is leaking ? considering age/milage ? this is not uncommon however as the water pump is driven by cambelt this unfortunately means you will have to replace the cambelt and tensioner as well as the water pump it is policy never to use old belt/tensioner once disturbed for obvious reasons i'm sure you have heard stories of result of cambelt failure? and the serious damage caused to engine ? also if leak is serious? this will deteriate c/belt so advice you consider renewal asap cambeltkit +tensioner in uk casts approx under £45 and w/pump a little less you can obtain from most good motor factors/superstores avoid dealers this job is not too difficult diy with haynes or w/shop manual if you follow instructions and have tool kit hope this helps?
