I have a cavs dvd-105g and when i put a disk in it is says no disk.. what is the problem with this.. it is a new machine,

what is wrong with the VGA output? the connector? no display? please clarify

Should be IDE cable...IDE interface according to the specs. You computer has IDE connections so the drive should work.

I would clean the laser

It sounds like the most like culprits are the laser assembly or it could be the Mpeg printed circuit board, often found attached to the laser assy by flat ribbon cabbles. the part number should be on the printed circuit board or laser assembly, otherwise obtainable from their closest aurthorised dealer. my cavs203g video out put doesnt work and dont have remote

just got the CAVS 105G and the tray will not open.  Could there be a shipping brace that needs to be unfastened in order to open the tray?

its the disk not the machine put one of last years disks in and try it
new disks have new formats that older players cant recognize now the corprate industry maken money by selling bogus disks so where you have to upgrade your players which means buy new ones

This maybe due to a disk misread, clean youe lens and retry. If this does not help you may have a problem where the system is unaware of the disks it shouldbe able to paly this is a hard memory issue. Try cleaning the lens first.
