Absolutely, i am on 1 gb memory and Windows 7 Home Premium x32 works perfect. Previously i was with xp sp3, now it's like i'm reborned. It is so fast now. I recomend to instal win 7 :)

Unfortunately there's not Windows 7 driver for this Laptop, you may be able to find some of them, but not all. Dell haven't updated any drivers for windows yet compatible with this model. For now, you can try installing the Windows xp driver in Compatibility Mode. First of all, if you haven't got the windows driver, download them from HERE. The video driver is the bottom most link i.e "(v)Video" on the page, you'll need to download all of them since you haven't known which one is one your system, whether Intel or ATi. Once the driver is downloaded, extract them in separate folders (if they don't come down as a .exe file), once it's done, follow the instructions on how to install windows xp software/driver/app on Windows 7 (click HERE.). I've given an example in the "tip" but you'll need to perform the task on your driver .exe file. Let me know if you need further help.

i upgraded from 2x256mb to 2x1gb memory. i bought it used on ebay. it's ok if it's used right? but even then, this 2gb memory card doesn't feel as smooth and fast as it should
