Also when I disconnect from PC I have to set it up right from the beginning, the same thing happens if I accidently push the sd card in and it pops out. Hook the Tomtom using the USB cable to your computer. You should see the Tomtom drive under My Computer as a drive letter.

Backup all data from the Tomtom to a folder on your computer. Now select the Tomtom drive and right click, select properties, select tools, and then Check now. Allow the computer to fix any problems with the Tomtom drive. Once this is completed. Remove the USB cable and do a reset. Now turn on your Tomtom and it should work.

Cant download play store

How to install
The installation process is pretty simply, but there are a few options you'll have to check in your handset's menus before we begin. So here's a full step by step guide to access all that glorious Google Play content on your Android smartphone or tablet.
1- Firstly you'll need a copy of the official Google Play Store apk file to install on your device. You can download this on your PC and move it over to your handset or download it directly onto your handset, in which case it will appear in your download folder. Either way is fine.
The latest version of the Play Store is 4.4.12, which can be downloaded from here, along with any older versions.
The download listed here is cryptographically signed by Google, so it's safe to install and hasn't been tampered with or infected with malicious software. But be aware of downloading files from other less reputable sources.
2- You'll need to enable the installation of external apk files before you can install the Play Store file. This is done by checking the "unknown sources" box in your devices settings, which will allow you to install apps from unvetted sources, in other words from outside of the Play Store. This option can usually be found under settings > security, but may also appear under settings > applications on certain devices. You can always uncheck the box again after installing the Play Store.

Next you'll need to locate where the apk file is on your handset. As already stated, if you downloaded the file using your device it should appear in your download folder, which can usually be accessed from the app drawer. However, if you had to move the file on your handset from your PC via a USB cable, then you'll need to be able to navigate to wherever you put the file. The easiest way to do this is to either directly place the file in the download folder, or install a third party file explorer, such as ASTRO file manager, in order to locate the apk.
4- Once you've found the file, tap on it to get things started and a popup will appear asking you if you want to continue with the installation. If this isn't working, check that step 2 has been completed successfully.
5- Continue to click install, passing through the list of required permissions that the app requires. A loading bar will appear, once that's completed the app is installed.
All done, it's as simple as that. Now you're ready to launch the Google Play Store and begin downloading apps.

To perform a hard reset you need to press buttons 1 and 4 in addition to the reset hole. This should do the trick.

The guidelines for resetting your phone is given below

Performing a Hard Reset

Perform a hard reset only when you want to clear all
user-installed settings, applications, and data from RAM

2. While holding down these buttons, use the stylus to

File Access Error

Check the SD memory card. There is a slider on the side of the card for locking to enable read-only mode. This slide should be up to enable read/write mode

Tom tom go 300 ''unable to store settings'' ''file access error'

Hi,
You might have the switch on SD card set to "read only" , This would stop your tomtom being able to write to the SD card ... hence , " unable to store settings " message . .... OR ... the folder where your tomtom wants to store the settings is corrupted ( on your SD card ) so it can't store them.... or similarly , the file is corrupted on the SD card ( maybe the card is damaged ) so the existing file cannot be overwritten . Check out all these possibilities before suspecting any hardware fault on your tomtom ..... GOOD LUCK

Resetting the Device

Sometimes there is a need to reset your Pocket PC. Resetting the
device is known as performing a "soft" or "hard" reset.

Performing a Soft Reset

A soft reset stops all running applications, but does not erase any
programs or saved data. Be sure to save any unsaved data within
a running application before performing a soft reset.
Perform a soft reset to:
■ Stop all running applications
■ Install a new application
■ Restart the Pocket PC if it stops responding

To perform a soft reset:

1. Locate the recessed Reset button on the bottom of your iPAQ
Pocket PC.
2. Use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button.
The Pocket PC restarts and displays the Today screen.

Performing a Hard Reset

and programs not saved in iPAQ File Store.

To perform a hard reset:
