GE profile mirowave JVM1350WW002. Handle broken

GE profile mirowave model JVM1350WW002. Handle broke at bottom. One screw is visible on the inside top of the door, when it is open. Bottom of handle is also held on by a screw, which is behind the trim. Do not know how to remove the trim to have access to the screw.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

You can find handy exploded views and order parts by model number here.

The door handle on my microwave broke off at bottom of the door. The screws holding the handle on are not visible from the back of the door. How do I access the screws to replace the handle. GE Profile...

The back of the door will have a moulded surround that will be fixed with allen heads or small screws. Remove the inside cover of the door and you will see the holes for the handle.

Handle broke and can't screw in the bottom screw of the new handle

bottom plate of the handle has a keyhole shape in the door-face of it
to go over a mushroom headed screw already secured in the door
tap the old broken handle down the door and it will pop off the screwhead
then
set the new handle sideways on the door, top end out into empty space, and pull it into place on the screw head,
rotate the handle top over the door and screw it into place, dont flex the handle much to twist it in place, they are brittle, and break

Microwave handle replacement

How to replace handle on GE Advantium SCA1001DSS.

Remove two screws on top at front in order to remove plastic front vent grill. Then the door lifts off pin hinges. Lay door flat on surface. Plastic trim snaps off with gentle prying (start at bottom middle and bottom hinge side). Then remove six screws holding notched metal section with door latch. This piece will also snap out (several visible clips holding it around edges). Then remove door handle screws, Replace handle and reverse process to put back together.

I have a GE Profile Microwave and the handle is broken....

I have the same issue. The Handle broke off my GE Microwave Oven (Model JVM1190SY 001). GE does not sell the handle seperately from what I can tell. I just ordered a new door. It's rediculously expensive. I tried to replace the handle with a nice drawer pull but couldn't find a size pull to match and I broke the plastic cover trying to get access to the screws for the handle, which is why I decided to buy the new door. Hopefully installation is not that difficult. This oven was manufactured in 2001, seems the handles have a 7 year life span.

Broken handle

1) Have to remove the door first; top of the oven there are two screws closest to the door, take those out. and the door should lift out
2) flip the door on the table with the handle side down. starting on the handle side there are three clips (top, middle, and bottom) between the outside casing and inside trim. Using a thin screwdriver gently twist starting at either the top or bottom to pod the two casings apart. work your way around the door.
3) You should see one of the screws that hold the handle on (top) but the bottom screw is under the metal casing so you need to remove the screws around this casing as well to get the other handle screw off.
Once you start you will see it isn't as bad as this sounds. I bought the handle for $40.
It is a shame that this is so cheap and breaks off this easily. Surprisingly we have had ours for at least 6 years before the handle broke and we have 3 girls opening and closing this all the time so I guess I was one of the lucky ones.
Hope this helps and good luck
