The trick is, it has NOTHING to do with your receiver, and EVERYTHING to do with your TV, you need to choose SAP on the TV not the stereo. That will send the SAP sound to the stereo you are playing the sound through.

Actually, the Quick Start Guide on page 6 of the manual shows the TV connection.

Consider that the TV is simply a visual element in your entertainment system and the rest will sound easy.

Run a single RCA cable from the receiver to the TV's Video IN so you can use its menus and view whatever video comes into the receiver.

Manage whatever audio you want to hear in HI-FI directly from its source to the receiver and NOT washed through the inferior audio electronics and speakers of the TV.

I need to hook up a yamaha 465 receiver

It has two HDMI inputs and one HDMI monitor output for the TV, so assuming all your devices are HDMI-capable, YES.

If you're getting audio out of one speaker, it's likely not an issue with how the TV's connected to the receiver, but an issue with how your speaker's are connected.

If you run a "speaker test", do you get audio out of all your speakers? If not, it's likely you mixed up your positive and negative connections when connecting your speakers.

Yamaha RX-V463 and LG DTV

I solve this problem by using an optical cable.
The only OUT socket from the TV was this one so i connected the optical cable to the optical input in my amp and it's ok now.
If your TV has another type of Out socket (HDMI OUT e.g) i think you can use it as well

No audio after hooking up RX-V363 to TV monitor (from cable box )

The HDMI on the RX-v363 does not pass the audio.  You need to either connect an optical or digital cable from your audio source.  If it is a cable box or DVD player there should be audio outputs in addition to HDMI

This receiver does not have video conversion capabilities. In the owners manual it mentions this. So HD in = HD out. Analog in = analog out on the video portion
