Re: How do I set up a mail account so I can email photos...
Ok, go to settings, then mail, contacts calender. Go to add account, select other for hotmail then add account. Fill in all relevent details as normal, hit save. It will verify account info then will appear above "add account" click on it and the settings should be filled in. If not fill in name address = email address, description = email address, host name = pop3.live.com, username = email address, password.
Then click on smtp server (bottom of current page) for outgoing mail and check primary server is smtp.live.com
If smtp needs configuring go into smtp add primaru server as smtp.live.com as host name, user name is yor email address, password, ssl to ON, port 587.

You can set up your email account by tapping the Mail icon on the Home screen, and then selecting your email provider. If you don't see your email provider listed, tap Other
Note: You must already have an existing email account to set it up. If you don't have an email account, you can set one up using a free solution such as Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo Mail.
If you already have an email account set up, and want to add another one to your phone, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account
Hello, This is nothing to do with hotmail..it is your setting..I assume that you made it all necessary inputs thru -*setting-*mail account-*add an account- * enter hotmail info and you are done.. Than you make that account -*Active -and go to main menu to click -*Receive mail-(you must have a wi-fi connection too) your mails should be downloaded into iPhone.Hope you will succeed. If problem continues send me an email that I can send you the some screen pictures of iphone for this setting. Regards.
Email account setup with Mail is easy. If you're setting up an email account for the first time on iPhone or iPod touch, simply touch the Mail icon on the Home screen. If you're adding an additional account with software version 2.0 or later, touch the Settings icon on the Home screen, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select Add Account.
If you're setting up a Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe, Gmail, Yahoo! or AOL account, touch the icons for those services on the Add Account screen and enter your account information. If you're setting up an email account from another provider, select Other. In software version 2.0 or later, Mail can automatically setup many popular POP and IMAP email accounts using just your email address and password.1 As Mail looks up settings that match your email account you may see a note appear that will describe any limitations you may experience in using your email account. If Mail cannot find the settings needed to setup your email account, refer to the documentation from your email provider on how to manually setup an email account.
Syncing email account settings to iPhone or iPod touch You use iTunes to sync your email account setttings to iPhone or iPod touch. iTunes supports Mail on a Mac, and Microsoft Outlook (2007 or 2003) and Outlook Express on a PC. See article "Syncing iPhone and iPod touch with your computer" for further details.
Note: Syncing email account settings to iPhone or iPod touch copies the email account setup, not the messages themselves. Whether the messages in your inbox appear on both iPhone or iPod touch and your computer depends on the type of email account you have and how it’s configured. You may need to enter your password on the device after syncing account settings.
if you are using Yahoo Mail and set up the account automatically with your iPhone/iTouch, you will get this error message whenever you try to email a photo. The solution is to set up the Yahoo mail account manually like you would any other POP account. I tried it after receiving that same error messaqe over and over and this seems to have fixed the problem. The issue isn't with the iPhone/iTouch, it is with Yahoo. Hope this helps
