If you see bad capicators, just replace the ones that appear to be bad. There are many different types of capicators on the power supply and there are different part number for each one. The good thing about capicators is they almost always list the ratings on the capacitor itself.

Check the Voltage rating (V) and the Farad ratings (F, usually μF), you can replace them with any one that has the same ratings. Make sure BOTH of them match the old ratings, you can purchase at just about any electronics store that carries electrical components such as RadioShack.

50 inch philips plasma has problems turning on. I replaced all the bad capacitors and now the green lights come on and then goes into blinking red four times. I checked all the capacitors and all of t

More specific, please ! Finally, did you replaced all bad capacitors or only replaced the power supply unit ? Because there are many other capacitors on other places that can be damaged.
Sure, the problem seems to be from one of the capacitors, but you have to know how to find the damaged one (and with the proper instrument will be more easy). Howewer, to buy a good instrument is more expensive than to service your TV set (my opinion). Plus guaranty.

Philips tv model number 50PFP5332D 37 wont power up

I have the model Philips 37PF7320A/37 won't turn on and MOST articles on the Internet say it's the Capacitors capictors capictors..I checked all of them. My tv just blinked red lights, had the clicking sound at first power on, but then goes black. No sound. No picture. Nothing. Just blinking red lights.

MINE WAS RESISTOR no. 3318 , a 100 OHM RESISTOR ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD.

I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT FOR .99 CENTS SOLDER IT, AND EVERYTHING WORKED!!!

THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK.

JUST A SUGGESTION..
1. CHECK FOR BULGING CAPACITORS (90 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM)
2. THEN CHECK FOR RESISTORS WITH MULTIMETER ( FALLS INTO THE OTHER 10 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM.)

TELL ME IF THAT [email protected]

First place to check is the power supply board. I have not repaired this particular model. I'm very certain you have two bad capacitors in the power supply. This is a classic problem for Philips flat TVs. The capacitors will be bulged or skinned. Be sure to replace them with same values. I would certainly gamble my time removing the power supply for inspection. Spending a few bucks on two capacitors may prove good. A working TV is near. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

Power on difficulties.

Hello,

Either the power supply has an issue , or you have a bad buffer board and Ysus scan board or both.red light indicating may mean power supply , 7 blinks the buffers and y board.
It could be just a few bad capacitors on the Power Supply, there could be a bad capacitor on the Y board if its bad it needs to be replaced with the buffers together
If you want to attempt the repair yourself you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on top.
The ones you are looking for are located almost center bottom of the power board,Usually I can see them clearly with the back on simply shining a light into the back through the holes

With the back removed you will see a few circuit boards the upper one (ac cord runs to it through a small board) is the power supply, it has a lot of capacitors on it (cylindrical standing straight up soldered in and marked on the sides with the positive/negative sides and uf and Volts values)
Philips uses 2200uf or 3300uf at 35Volts rating capacitors, they cost about $1-$2 each

The power board and back unscrew with a torx bit and screwdriver size 10 and 15 , if you do not know how to desolder and resolder then do not attempt this as you may damage the TV more than fix it.
We do not recommend do it yourself, but depending on your knowledge and technical ability you may be able to.
You can replace the whole power supply, .
If there is a blinking red light on the TV count the blinks,if it still blinks after replacing the swollen cap this would indicate a bad buffer board ,
check the capacitors by looking for the swollen tops .
I hope that will helpout.....

I HAVE A 50' PHILIPS MODEL 50PFP5332D/37 FLAT SCREEN TV. I BLEW A BREAKER ON THE TV PLUG IN WITH A PORTABLE HEATER. TURNED BREAKER ON TV CAME ON WORKED FINE. TURNED OFF. 1HR. LATER A RED BLINKING LIGHT WAS...

HI:
This is a plasma unit and philips plasma's are nortorious for bad power supplys, your problem may very well be the power suppy in the television, it is possible you blew a low B+ fuse on the power supply. There is also a issue with the Y-sustain board failing in this model, If you open the back and looking at the unit from the rear the y board is on the left side of the unit and the PS is in the center. disconnect the Y-sustain power plug from the power supply and turn on the unit if the unit stays on with no red light then the y board is bad. it does the same then replace the Power Supply.

My Philips flat screen tv model 50pfp5332d/37 I turned my tv on the blue light is on but nothing is on the screen it's making a clicking sound

It could be a power supply problem. In this model at least 2 capacitors, go bad in the power supply I think they're 1000uf/10V. If you look at the power supply board you will notice a bad cap with a blister on the top. The whole power board is from $100 - $200. I fixed a lot of these sometime the Y or sustain board goes bad. Visual inspection then measuring voltages..
Best of luck

Philips 50 Inch Plasma Model 50PF7320A/37 will not turn on

Commonly it's going to be a power supply related problem. The two boards that need to be looked at is the Main Power Supply Board or the power supply board for the screen. The one that powers the screen, some manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
If you have some electronic experience, you can sometimes find a Service Manual for the TV over the internet for less than $20. It will have the all resource material for repairing your TV model. It's just the matter of replacing the bad part on the circuit board.

Phillips 42 In Plasma Blinking Red Light Only

blinking link means there is a problem with the software -- usually this is caused when a fuse goes bad or the power supply board needs to be replaced due to a problem --- most repair places replace the whole board - nobody fixed one broken part
