My kenmore coldspot recently died of burnt compressor.
I saved some frequently failed parts. Can anyone use these?
All prices are ~1/3 of cost from Sears. If you're interested, let meknow. I can send hi res pics & will ship any where in US. I'm unemployed & just lost ~$200 worth of food...i can save you lots of money for these parts in return for some money for food for me & my 3yr old son. thx
If you're in the appliance repair business, i will sell all at a reasonably negotiated price.

Below is a fix by another owner of your make and model for the same issue. Pulled out ice bucket; tried ice dispenser with door latch pressed in and solenoid engaged and motor moved. Tried again and nothing (couple of times). Tried water...all good...good closure of dispensor flap (air pot operated). Opened dispenser (pried off carefully from bottom on this unit not to take off the glued part) and saw the micro-switch broken off of the ice dispenser side. Checked micro-switch (all good). Replaced control bracket...all good to go.
Sounds like your relay to your compressor has failed, but before you start buying parts has your unit failed to cool? If so you may want to look into the overload to the compressor. If this has failed the unit will fail to cool. If not the issue please get me more information as to status, temperatures etc..
please try to touch the condenser if heating or listening on the freezer if have hizzing sound if not maybe your unit have no refrigerant u said that u move in to friends house maybe piping damage if this happen try to braze leak and recharge refrigerant.or try to relocate your unit maybe the circulation of air to condenser is not good. observe the operation of compressor if working continues.
What are your temp controls set to? If the controls are set to the max setting and it won't reach temp, you could have a broad range of problems ranging from bad door gaskets, to bad temp controls, to a low refrigerant charge, to possible a failing mechanical part such as a fan motor or compressor.

I just fixed my neighbors fridge that suffered from a power surge. She explained that she smelt a burning smell in the kitchen and the next day the fridge and freezer were not cold. Of course she did not share the burnt smell part until after I discovered the starter relay and the capacitor were burnt on the compressor. She purchased the new starter kit and capacitor from a local supply company and while installing them I discovered the compressor fan was not running which also meant the compressor was not getting any power. I removed the screws that held the control panel on the fridge side (right side) and inspected the circuit board which I discovered a burnt trace on the board for the compressor control relay. I fixed the board by soldering a piece of solid core wire across it and it works great!
Make sure you shop around for your parts. The BIG local supplier here in Tulsa wanted $65 for the starter kit and $65 for the capacitor. We shopped around and found another supplier in Tulsa that sold them for $25 each and they were FSP parts!
