My mic is gone on the phone can this be fixed? Also the front cover is getting loose can that be fixed as well?

Two things you can try. It may or may not fix the problem. If you have put on one of those sticker type design on your phone make sure you're not covering the mic. The mic is the one to the right of the dock connector. The second is to tighten the two screws next to the dock connector. It may not look loose but sometimes for whatever reason it gets loose. Make sure you use the correct size screwdriver so you don't strip the screw

open the front cover of your mobile and see a black colour round mic is fixed with it , just change it

Sounds like a mic problem.These units have mics that has two brushes that slide on contacts.Opening it by changing covers or keypads could disturb the connections or disorient it making it loose its contact.Solution to this is by openning the unit and locating the mic,usually found below the keypads.If you are familiar in the disassembly of the cover and keypads you can locate the mic which is either covered with rubber and the mic has an obvious form(round) and you can see on it the two brushes,see if that is making a contact on the circuit boards contact points.If it is the mic should be replaced.

From the problem description, it seems like there is a Hardware problem in the phone mic. It is advised to take it to some authorised service centre for test/fixing.

your cell phone microphone is in loose contact or it is gone ...

so just open the handset and check for the mic ,if it is in loose contact then refit it properly so that the mic pins contact the motherboard of you cell ...
if the mic is dead then you replace the mic with the another one ..

mic is available very much cheaply so do it if you are good at opening the handset ..

if you are afraid of opening it then just contact the technician he will make it for you ..
technician may charge some service charge that s all ..
it is very minor problem ..

aol videos has a repair solution for the microphone,,,,thier is a small connector on the faceplate itself that you need to take off and put on the new faceplate.it is where the mic is located,it looks like a small black rubber with two brass pins in it..good luck!

It worked well for me too! Thanks Fixya.com!! I was told I had to buy a new phone because the microphone went back. Took the receiver apart (4 screws in back of handset and 2 that held the board in place), cleaned mic with alcohol and a q-tip, and removed the rubber piece that kept the mic clean (inside of the housing), and presto, it worked just fine. The ribbon cable came loose upon opening up inside of phone, but I stuck it back inside the top of base and I was ready to go.
