Installing the router. when testing the connection, about half way through, i lose internet connection.

All your devices have the old password in memory so they will lose the connection when the new password is saved in the router. Usually turning all equipment off then back on should fix this -but you will need to login everything with the new password.

You will lose all the settings of your network if you reset Linksys router. If you have active Internet through your router then you will lose the Internet settings. You will need to reconfigure your router from the beginning.

i have a belkin router n 150 .haveing trouble staying on .i keep losing connectivity.i had my internet
check out they said every thing is ok with my modem.thats it is my router.

Could be your Anti virus software. Try to switch it to gaming mode.

please reset the router
configure the router type ip address on the browser
may be 192.168.1.1

Try installing the wireless router setup.exe once again. Do unistall the old file before installing the new one.

I used to work for verizon for two years as level 3 support,here is the thing,if verizon already replaced the modem,that means that its not really the modem,its the connection,thats what we call intermittent route,here is what you are going to do,contact verizon,have them run an intermittent connection line test,tell them that internet connection is not consistent,they will create an active ticket for you,it will be forwarded to the central office and the central office will run a different test,thats what we call a test assist...they will be able to verify if the problem is the line form the central office going to your house...

As far as i know the coonection speed on internet should be the same, the speed at which you connect to the router wirelessly would be half the speed ,hence 54 mbps as apposed to 100 mbps via cable, when downloading. I assume you have done a speed test at http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html to give you your modem connection speed, although your wireless connection to your pc; will stream the connection at half that of cable.
