Remove lamp and inspect the color wheel to see if missing pieces or shattered---it will also just before failing give a high pitched or fan like sound and if running too slow or not at all instant shutdown happens.
Its also possible if you bought a GENERIC bulb--and used original cartridge the new lamp is bad.
I have a wd-57731 The lamp light blinked orange. i replaced the lamp turned the tv on and the timer blinks green for one minute and then the lamp light blinks orange again. It won't turn on. Can you suggest anything?
Hi, have you replaced the lamp after 2-3 yrs of usage? The lamps used by mitsubishi tend to last around 4000 hrs 1-3 yrs.It is common for the green light to light up.Other common failures are the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.Also check if its not overheatin, dust out the fans.Heres where u can get the lamp or ballast http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=wd-52631
Lamp is not the issue. It most likely is a your DM card. You most likely have some capacitors that need to be replaced. This is a terrible issue with this unit. Do a google search for "DM" and the model number and you should see hundreds of posts.
The DM is failing to complete the boot sequence thats why the power led is continuously blinking green. The V26 DLP DM repair kit will usually repair that issue you can get the kit at the following link which includes the replacement capacitors and step by step instructions with pictures on how to do the repair.Its listed under the repair kits category. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
ok.
#1. replaced capacitors on power board. DM board FMT board .
# 2 on power board you need to chek caps. 3300mf x 35 v.QTY 2.
# 3 12 capacitor 1000mf x 16 v.
If caps 1000mf x 16 v . looked good. replaced anyway......
the dlp will most likely need a qualified mits repair center to take over for you. repairing that set is pretty involved. and the parts you would need are not available to the public.
on your 48" CRT projection check the DM module for 4 vented 1000mf 16v capacitors. replacement should get you tv working great
Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
