If you turn over the lap top there is two places you can unscrew one is memory, the other is th battery, un screw it and remove battery very careffully also note the way you removed them as you will need to put the new one in the same way.
Good Luck
Hi,
Is the webcam installed properly on the laptop (I suspect that this is the problem)? Is the webcam Logitech? If so, install the driver and software again from the CD that comes with it (you can also download from their site). Made sure the cam works with their software, then run skype and it should work.
You normally need a compatible Power Supply plugged into the Laptop from the mains. Without this the battery will go flat.
If you do not have one a good place to look is Ebay, or the like simply put in the model name of your laptop and the words Power Supply.
EG: IBM ThinkPad T30 Power Supply.
here is some simple steps for windows XP's--------password but do it carefully
Step 1
Shut
down or restart your computer. While your computer is booting, press
the F8 key repeatedly until the "Boot Menu" appears and you can select
"Safe Mode." Once you select "Safe Mode," press "Enter."
Step 2
Click on the "Start" menu and then click "Run."
Step 3
Type "control userpasswords2" in the dialog box that pops up, and then click "OK."
Step 4
Click on the account you forgot the password for and select the reset option.
Step 5
Input a new password into both the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" areas. Select "OK."
the only solutions i know are both non easy fixes. one is to strip down the laptop and find the bios battery if it has one. then pull it, leave it 30 seconds and put it back in, rebuild and all will be well. the other is to get hold of IBM and fax them proof of ID and ownership (the usualy request although i havent done it with IBM yet) and they have an unlocking set of passwords which is written into the BIOS.
one thing you may need is a new AC power cord. It could be the cord itself that is bad. If you can find someone elses to try that may help. The other thing that it could be is the internal recharging circuitry. It is one or the other. First I would try a different power cable. If that doesn't help you will need to get your laptop serviced. If you have a moment to accept and rate this and the original solution appropriately it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lee
check the wall plug for power I have had one where you had to wriggle power fitting in computer (bad plug) Lap tops are getting cheaper so it could be a viable proposition to upgrade Any competent local computer shop could transfer files from old computer to new you could make it a condition of sale
