My tv went really yellow yesterday. The pip picture is still fine. I get the same effect on another Vizio when I use the component input and unplug the red plug. Suggestions?

faults & possible causes to LCD & Plasma screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent. Faults to all LCD & Plasma screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.
What kind of input are you using? If you are using 3 cables (white, red, yellow, then possibly your white and red (sound) are still plugged in but the yellow (picture) cable has come lose on the back of the TV or on another machine it is feeding from such as a DVD player or other equipment.
Have you selected the proper input for how you have it configured? If using an HD connection, select the HDMI 1 input. If you are using the coaxial cable connection, then select TV input. If you are using the three RCA inputs (yellow, red, white) then select AV input.
use another input>>>video jacks like on your dvd player>>>red ,white , and yellow wires WILL work fine... plug cable or sat or dtv signal to TV using VIDEO jacks...red white yellow( plug into the INPUT on TV!!!enjoy
LCD's use a colorful crystal see through display which only visible when light is shining through it. if you have sound and no picture it's always a faulty PSU. Very easy to change out actually.
I would guess the power supply went bad. The Vizio parts store sells the replacement for $82. Cheap fix for a decent TV.
Replacing it only requires a moderate mechanical skill. Removing the screws from the case is the hardest part. Remember to unplug the TV before you attempt this repair, or contact a local repair shop. They may only charge a small fee to install it for you.
look in your owner's manual and you will see a list of input that can work with each other and ones that can't. If you don't have your service manual, you can go to vizio.com and get it there.
My 47" Vizio wouldnt turn on this morning.....had a similair problem 3 yrs ago.....this is what i did and fixed the problem myself.....apparently you have to reset TV. Here is what has worked for me. So unplug tv power cord from the tv. Hold the power button and imput button together ( located on side panel ) for approx 45 sec......plug cord back into tv. Press power button on tv and voila !!!!! Tv came back on!!! I have had my Vizio almost 5 yrs. But have to call the unhelpful customer service atleast once a year.... I hope this works for you :)
MY TV DIDN'T NOT TURN YELLOW.. IT DID TURN GREEN.
