Any blue smoke is not good. thats means you are leaking oil into the cylinder heads. The oil is being burned along with the gas causing the blue smoke. why it happens after the engine warms up is that the oil is being pumped through out the whole engine and now reaching the cyl heads. to fix this is alot of work. The engine needs to pulled, the cyl heads removed and the cyl rings replaced.
Your engine is burning oil. The usual causes are worn out valve guides and seals, broken piston rings, worn rings and scored cylinders which all amounts to an engine overhaul.
Blue smoke is oil and if it's coming from your engine compartment most likely means the gasket on your valve cover either needs to be replaced or it could even be as simple and needing to tighten the valve cover bolts a bit. Oil is leaking from the valve covers and working it's way to your hot exhaust manifold and that is where the smoking is most likely coming from.
