If you could, warranty replace. Otherwise your probably best off getting a new laptop as out of warranty mobo's from dell can be pricey.

Sounds like a motherboard failure to me. Remove all MEMORY, Battery, Drives, Wireless card am modem, see if you get memory beep codes. If you do, add 1 memory module, see if you can get the system to POST, If no go, try other RAM, If system posts, add items till you ID failed item. If no POST< replace motherboard ($150 to $200 on Ebay for that model usually
Testimonial: "I have tried what you have suggested. No POST. Thank you for pricing information. However, the customer has already paid 150 for the screen :("
Here's one for less than $100

The screen is brand new, replaced it for a customer before testing to see if the laptop would even power up - silly me.
The laptop has no battery. The AC adapter is being used to power up the unit, but there is nothing on the screen at all when power is applied to the system.
I also felt that this is a motherboard problem, thanks for your confirmation diagnosis.
Could the screen's connections be causing the laptop's failure to boot? Say if the connections weren't seated well. Can a screen issue prevent the laptop from booting up?

Could the a screen issue be causing the laptop's failure to POST? Say, if the screen's connections were not seated perfectly. Would a screen connection issue prevent the laptop from POSTing?
Could be one of a few things. Do you see anything on the screen at all before it powers down? Are you running on battery power while doing this or the AC adapter? I have seen problems with the battery cause this. Try taking the battery out and booting that way. If nothing is showing up on the screen and it just powers up and off on AC power this would appear to be a motherboard problem. Please let me know the answers to the above and I can help further. Thanks and good luck.
