LG RH277H aerial reception

I have a LG RH277H just purchased. I have connected the aerial to DVDRec and then to TV as per instructions and tuned it. I seem to be picking up an analogue signal which is not very clear. My TV (Digital) obviously has a clear picture (and a lot more channels) and I need to know how to fix up the DVD recorder to record the same (digital) signal the TV is receiving rather than this analogue one.

Any help would be appreciated

SOURCE: Is it possible to tune

Unfortunately no, it is not possible to tune Hd / Sd channels on the Panasonic DMR-E85H, because it only has an analogue TV tuner.

For Sd, you could insert a 'digibox' between the RF aerial input and the DVD, but you won't be able to get Hd currently unless you subscribe to a cable or satellite provider.

SOURCE: Panasonic DVD Recorder - Digital tuner stopped working

Is your recorder hooked up to the new convert box for digital antenna reception?
I am currently researching the convert boxes for my dvd recorder. I found that some dvd recorders already have digital converter boxes already installed. This might be the case for you.

Quasar television radio combo. ANY way to get channels without a buying a converter. It has screw connections that looks like you are to use some type of uhf transformer type thing. I do not have any of...

I haven't heard of a radio/tv combo since the demise of vhf tv.

A reasonable radio reception could be derived from the vhf tv signal making a usable unit without the bother of an additional aerial. For use with uhf tv the radio would probably need an additional aerial for decent fm radio reception - unless the radio is am only...

You don't say how old your combo is or give any details. I think the screw terminals could be intended to be connected to a 300 ohm balanced dipole aerial for radio reception only or to mount a loop aerial for indoor tv reception only, if the tv is intended for uhf analogue reception.

If the tv isn't equipped with a standard socket for the usual 75 ohm coaxial type aerial lead it is possible the set manufacturer originally supplied an adaptor to fit to those two screws in order to provide a regular aerial socket.

Without a much more detailed description, these are the only comments I am able to make.

Am having very poor fm reception on my lg ht914 adjusted how do I adjust the aerial

In the manual they suggest checking the antenna connection or adding an external one. Or tune to the station manually. (page 21)

Nowhere in the setup do they tell about attaching an antenna, so I don't know if it's possible.

Sky problem

Freeview has nothing to do with satellite. FreeSAT is the one that uses a satellite dish for reception. FreeVIEW is received through the aerial.

Also, don't fall for the "digital aerial" scam. I install aerials as part of my business. I've been to homes with aerials 20 years old, covered in soot from the chimney and they still pick up Freeview perfectly well. Equally, I've been to homes where the owner has bought some gold plated multi-finned "digital high gain" monstrosity that has awful reception characteristics.

If your TV aerial is okay, then just plug it in to your Freeview receiving TV and do the tuning.

If you do want Freesat then you will need a satellite dish along with a Freesat receiver.

Can't tune in tv with dvd freeview.it states ext link problem

If you've connected the DVD to the TV via HDMI or SCART you shouldn't need to 'tune it in', just select the HDMI or SCART input. If your TV is also a Freeview device and you want to tune it to Freeview, where you have the aerial connected to the DVD recorder, you need to also connect the DVD recorder to the TV via an RF cable or aerial flylead so that the aerial signal passes through the DVD recorder. It's all in the instructions

Hello .i have a lg tv which i purchased in 2008 and only watched videos,i now want to watch tv i have tried auto tune and it only finds 3 vhf channels and none digital.it has preview built in but i can not...

if it has freeview built in its usually programmes itself try turning it on and go into the menu and there should be an auto tune function hit that and it should tune up but remember it needs to be connected to an aerial if it still says no signal try moving the aerial, getting a booster for the aerial they usually plug into the mains then into the back of your tv and you plug your aerial into that to boost the frequencey if that doesn't work then you might need to think about getting a new aerial but you can get 1 for under £30

Tv-- signal strength normal but signal on all channels "blipping" down intermittently causing freezing of picture. Have replaced aerial with high gain antennae together with aerial cable and...

When ever the picture freezes intermittendly the problem is usually poor connection on the signal line (antenna or connection on tv) or poor reception. Could be the tuner if the tv has one.To eliminate the tuner possibility try anther tv set if possible.
If you still cannot figure out the problem, let me know what kind of set up you have connected to your tv set.
Do you have a satellite or cable box and if you have splitters.
