My model 210 is stuck in reverse. Can you help?

My model 210 is stuck in reverse. Can you help? I just purchased this machine at an estate sale. The instruction book is included. I needed to stitch in reverse, and when I turned to the stitch length dial to permanent reverse position, it stuck and none of my sewing buddies can get it out of reverse. Can you help?

The only thing you can do to possible free the mechanism is to turn the lower dial back and forth a bit, from the position where it is in permanent reverse to the numbered area on the dial. Make sure the selector is not on the buttonhole position. That machine doesn't really have a history of that issue but anything is possible, especially if it has sat for awhile and not been used. If moisture was present where it was stored, it's possible the feed linkage is slightly rusted and simply stuck.

Take off two screws on the right side cover, open the plastic cover on the side, then you will be able to push out the reverse switch easily from inside with a finger.

ACTIVA 210 WON'T DO REVERSE STITCH

If your Activa 210 sewing machine is not performing the reverse stitch function, there could be a few possible reasons for this issue:
1. Incorrect stitch selection: Ensure that you have selected the correct stitch that includes a reverse stitch. Some stitches, particularly decorative or specialty stitches, may not have a reverse option. Check your machine's manual to identify the stitches that offer reverse functionality.
2. Mechanical issue: There could be a mechanical problem preventing the reverse stitch function. Check if there is any lint, debris, or thread buildup in the reverse stitch lever or mechanism. Clean the area carefully with a soft brush or use compressed air to remove any obstructions that may be hindering the reverse stitch mechanism.
3. Stitch length setting: Verify that the stitch length is not set to zero. If the stitch length is at its minimum, it may prevent the reverse stitch function from engaging. Increase the stitch length slightly and try again.
4. Incorrect machine operation: Ensure that you are following the correct procedure to engage the reverse stitch. Typically, you would need to press and hold down a lever or button while sewing to activate the reverse stitch. Refer to your machine's manual for the specific instructions on how to engage the reverse stitch.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to contact a professional sewing machine technician or the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They will be able to provide specific guidance and help diagnose any potential mechanical issues with your Activa 210 sewing machine.

My Singer quantum willnot go backwards.

Every machine I've ever owner will 'back up'. But each one works differently. Have you asked the seller? Or looked your Quantum up, Online? .... Most of my many machines have been acquired at estate sales, without 'books.' All of them are, available, online. I have no idea why, but - there they are!

Looking for free Service repair manual for Husqvarna Sewing Machine 3600

Service and repair manuals are difficult to find as the manufacturers are reluctant to make that information available to the public. However, sometimes you will find them for sale on sites like eBay. If you also search the internet for parts diagrams you may find some information to help figure out where things belong.

There is also this site (I have no experience with it):

I bought I 758 model zigzag sewing machine at yard sale, it works but sews slow and wants to stop while sewing what could ine wrong with it

I don't recognize your machine's brand.

The number one failure for most machines purchased at the thrift store, estate sale, or garage sale, is the machine needs a good cleaning and oiling--it has been setting a long time and old oil has solidified causing the moving parts to stick. Search the internet for an owner's manual--input Brand name, Model number + the word "manual." Read up on cleaning and oiling your particular machine. (The second failure is usually incorrect threading...)

If it is a mechanical (not computerized), you can do most of the work yourself (with time and lots of patience) using a good quality sewing machine oil (not 3-in-1, WD-40, or cooking oil). Do not oil any plastic parts or any cams unless directed to do so. If the moving parts are metal, you can usually speed up the process by directing hot air from a hairdryer into the interior of the machine (wear gloves so you don't burn yourself on the hot metal).

I have a singer 603e that I just purchased from an estate sale. I got home and tried to use it, but the take up lever is stuck. How do I fix this?

try some wd 40, spray it on the area of the take up lever & let it set for at least 10 minutes then with the hand wheel on the right hand side slowly move the hand wheel toward you & if it still doesn't move re spray again & wait again then try the hand wheel again to move toward you eventually it should start to break loose if it's just stuck.
since you pruchased it at a estate sale, there not much telling when the machine was serviced last
if the spraying doesn't work, consider having it serviced
